What is the signs that your boyfriend/girlfriend will become a person who will physically and mentally abuse---harm you in the future like when you both become married?

Here are some signs to watch out for that could indicate a partner may become abusive down the line:

- Jealousy - If they try to control who you talk to or spend time with. Always accusing you of cheating without reason.

- Isolating you - If they discourage you from seeing friends/family or doing activities you like. Want to take up all your time.

- Emotional abuse - Putting you down, calling you names, shaming you to undermine your self-esteem over time.

- Controlling behavior - Telling you what to wear, not allowing opinions to differ from theirs. Demanding to know your location all the time.

- Past abuse - If they've been abusive to other partners before. Abusive tendencies don't just disappear.

- Quick anger - They have a short fuse and say hurtful things when angry they later apologize for.

- Blaming others - They refuse to take responsibility for their actions, always blame other people/things for problems.

- Breaking or damaging things - Throwing/hitting objects now can escalate to physical abuse later if anger issues aren't addressed.
