Sure. It's called a rebound. Some guys get butthurt when they find out they are a rebound, but if you tell him up front you just got out of a relationship you're trying to forget, I think that extra transparency would give him a level of understanding that would preclude that from happening

A rebound isn’t always a bad thing. I met a guy in college that I intended to just date to forget another guy and I ended up falling in love with him and marrying him.
