Do you ever hate living with roommates and just prefer living alone?

I don't really have anything against splitting rent/costs with a roommate, but 5/7 that I've had (including an Army barracks and college apartment in this metric) were pretty bad experiences overall.

One decided he wanted to get plastered drunk on a regular basis and later started smoking weed quite a bit before dropping out. If he didn't leave on his own, I would've especially after he got the lock switched out and didn't tell me. One of the Army ones was a schizophrenic headcase but because he was being protected by someone, we couldn't chapter him out and I just had to deal with his antics for a few months. The others weren't as memorable but it's best to know who your roommates are ahead of time.

Freshman year in college I had the worst roommate. I think that when they assigned roommates they looked at the forms we had to fill out beforehand and they matched most kids up pretty good. They had two people left over that were not compatible with anyone so they just put them together.

This kid was so weird I was not sure he was a human.

I always preferred living alone. Roommates needs a word adaption. It’s more like living with pests. There’s not many real benefits to it.

Possibly extra security if you can’t afford and if they’re not threatening by nature themselves. Like meerkats. Ideally.

I would think most people would despise having a roommate , always tedious at some point.. Alone is much better.
