Boyfriend broke his promise?

Yesterday he told me he would call me after his friends left to hang out but he didn’t. I kept checking my phone but these are the friends he drinks with so not surprised but still hurt. Today for Christmas he said he would come by then go to his parents for dinner. He called me and I missed his call. When I called back he texted me that he’s at his parents and will call me later. It’s almost dinner time. This isn’t the first time and I’m tired of being disappointed. I texted him yesterday afternoon, no reply, I texted him at night for bed, no reply. I get a merry Christmas this morning. He just doesn’t care right?

He called now saying he got drunk now with his parents and how he’s too drunk to come over but that I can come over and see him to cuddle and exchange presents

Man, that really sucks. I know how much it hurts to feel like you're not a priority to someone. Promises are meant to be kept, especially if you really care about someone.

It doesn't seem like he's making much effort here. Bailing on your plans without much explanation isn't cool. And leaving you hanging all day without replies is just rude. On Christmas too! You deserve way better than that.

I think at this point you need to have a serious talk with him. Let him know this kind of thing isn't okay and it makes you question how he really feels. See what he has to say for himself. But if it keeps happening over and over, you might need to think about moving on. You shouldn't have to beg someone for their time and attention, you know?

I know it's hard, but you deserve someone who's genuinely excited to be with you and keep their word. Don't settle for less. Your feelings are valid here - trust your gut on this one. I'm here if you need anything, mate. You'll get through this!
