How to approach my crush?

So I followed my crush on Ig, he followed me back but I was scrolling down on his account and I saw a photo of him hugging this girl, I thought it was his girlfriend (I'm still not sure) so I just unfollowed him and I remove his follow, now I just find out the girl isn't his girlfriend becuz she hugs everyone, now I wanna follow my crush again but im kinda scared he's going to reject me, do you think its better for me to approach him in real life? I don't know I think he have feelings for me becuz he always lock eye contact with me.

Ah man that sucks, I hate when stuff like that happens. But don't worry about it too much, lots of people hug friends you know? I wouldn't read into that pic too much.

And nah I wouldn't worry about him rejecting you either if you follow him again on IG. He followed you back already so he must want to chat at least! Maybe just wait like a week or so and then refollow him casually like nothing happened.

As for approaching him in real life, that's probably a good idea too. Like next time you see him around school or wherever, maybe just say hey and ask how he's doing. Then you can talk about a class you have together or a game that's coming up, something easy like that.

Guys aren't usually great at hints either though so if you chat for a bit and the vibe seems good, maybe mention IG or getting each other's numbers. The eye contact is definitely a good sign too that he's into you!

I'd say go for it, you never know till you try. Worst that happens is it doesn't work out but then at least you know. You've got nothing to lose! Hope it goes well, let me know what happens!

I followed him back, and I send an apology messahe, he said don't worry about it and there's no need to apologize, and I just find out the girl was his step sister

Ah nice, I'm glad he wasn't weirded out that you unfollowed him! And phew, finding out that girl was just his stepsister definitely explains things. Don't sweat it, at least you shot your shot and apologized - that took guts. Seems like he's cool with you so just play it cool from here. Maybe keep talking to him on ig if you guys chat there, or bring it up casually next time you see him at school so he knows you're still interested. But no pressure - let things happen naturally and have fun with it! This could turn out better than you thought.
