How would you feel if your partner was a secret agent sent to keep tabs on you?

This might sounds like the plot of a B-movie, but it happened for real in Germany - during the Cold War, the East German Stasi (Ministerium für Staatssicherheit, the secret services) often sent agents to romance possible dissidents and keep tabs on them.

Sometimes they even got married and had children together. After German reunification, and those things came to light, many outcomes happened - some people already knew their partner was a Stasi agent, they either confessed to them or genuinely fell in love with them so they falsified their reports.

Other got divorced, and the Stasi agents got sued and even tried for criminal charges. Other people still don't know about their wife or husband actually being a spy.

My opinion - first all I would want to know if her feelings for me were sincere or at least became sincere over time.
A period of separation would be inevitable, but I would be open to listen to her reasons and explanations.

Eventually, if her feelings were genuine, I would forgive her.
However, if she doesn't have any feeling and just went on with our relationship to settle, I would probably divorce her and sue her employers - not her - for damages and even rape, since every time we

had sex was based on a lie and a consent I wouldn't have given had I known the truth.
Regarding our children, if she really loves them, regardless of her feelings towards me, I would work on a co-parenting relationship and wouldn't separate them from their mother.
