She told me she likes me, but I already have a girlfriend who I'm in love with and would rather be with her.

Wow, if I were you I would cut ties with the friend. This crush she has on you isn’t new, she’s been sitting on these feelings and ultimately missed her opportunity to act on them. The respectable thing to have done was wait it out and confess if you became single in the future. Instead she was not only selfish, but had no care for your girlfriend or potentially destroying you relationship for her own gain. Good friends don’t do that.
On top of all this, now that you know how she feels, you can’t have a girlfriend and hang out with her still. Already I’m sure your girlfriend isn’t the most comfortable with your opposite sex friendship but probably keeps it to herself, so if she knew this friend liked you it would trigger her worst fear, and her peace of mind should always take priority over your friends.
This is an unfortunate situation but if anything I hope it teaches your friend to respect boundaries and do unto others as she’d want done to herself. I’m sure she wouldn’t want some girl creeping on her boyfriend either.
I think you're right, I have to cut ties with her. A shame, we've known each other since we were kids, but she just doesn't make me feel the way my girlfriend does, even though I haven't known her as long.
It is a shame but in the reality of it, she put you in an impossible, unfair position and basically gave you a “it’s me or her” ultimatum. I don’t want to vilify her, I’m sure she has her redeeming qualities and as you said, it has been a long friendship. However, this move showed a lot about her character and it wasn’t a good look. I think you’re better off with your girlfriend, I don’t know her personally but I doubt she’d do something like this. Good women aren’t trifling.
Yeah, I doubt it too, something like this only makes me appreciate my girlfriend more.
Tell her the truth. You don’t owe her love because she loves you. That’s her problem. And if you love your girl friend get engaged. If the time is right.
I've actually been planning to ask my girlfriend to marry me, I guess that's why my friend told me.
We’ll go ahead and ask her I’m happy for you. Your friend needs to move on. Don’t feel sorry for her okay. What is your astrology your girlfriend and friend?
I'm not sure what you mean, sorry.
Tell her you just want to be friends.
