It is my responsibility to protect my girlfriend to the extent possible, even if that means sacrificing myself to do so. But this is also why I expect her to follow my lead in situations regarding her safety - I can't protect her if she is working against me.
My goal is to AVOID problems as much as possible, but you can't just stay locked in your home your entire life, so there is always going to be SOME amount of risk. As such, you need to manage that risk, so that you can almost always avoid problems before they start. For that fraction of a percent where serious trouble can't be avoided, then you have to be as dangerous and as focused as you can be, and if you are protecting others, you have to keep focus on yourself, regardless of the danger to yourself.
The worst situation you can be in is to have a dangerous psycho who has control of your loved ones. Then you are at the mercy of people who likely have none.
I can't imagine a situation where that would be necessary, but who knows what I would do in a critical situation where it's her or me?
I think the biggest sacrifice is living your years on earth in a way to that protects and blesses them. Dying for somebody is not as excellent as living 40 years as their companion and supporter and lover.
Absolutely! But I don’t want him to give up his for mine, he has a lot more people that needs him to be around

No. Sacrifice means losing part of themselves. I believe in help and support but not sacrifice.
And I'm not alone. I have family, friends, and other people who care for me. I wouldn't make a decision that results in sacrificing myself for one person and leaving many others in mourning.
@islathewitch. But yet women expect men to sacrifice themselves
@KrakenAttackin show me
@islathewitch. Um... every war that has ever been fought?
@KrakenAttackin Did women start wars ffs?
@islathewitch. Wars are fought over resources and political differences. Wars are not a "male" phenomena.
@KrakenAttackin so how it connects to the women expecting men to sacrifice themselves?
@islathewitchl. Seriously?
"so how it connects to the women expecting men to sacrifice themselves?"
During the incident of the Titanic, most of the people who died on the ship were men.. Mainly because the knew they would be shunned by society as cowards if they went on the life boats..
In England during WWI and WWII, since they didn't have the draft, many men opted out of the War, and didn't enlist.. So the military came up with the White Feather Campaign to try and get men to enlist.. The Suffragettes of the time took it upon themselves to start giving men who wore civilian uniforms white Feathers, which was basically calling them cowards.. It got many men to enlist and some to commit suicide..
Titanic was one of the worst movies ever made. It's basically just about a woman cheating on her fiance with a homeless man until the boat sinks and the bum dies. Then when she is old she is brought to the wreck by some treasure hunters looking for a diamond, which she had entire time and decides to drop into the ocean instead of giving it to the treasure hunters or leaving it to her family. Terrible movie about a selfish bitch.
f I truly love someone, I will definitely give my life for them, in a heartbeat. I will put their wants, needs, and happiness over my own anytime, any day.
If needed to, I'd lay down my life. I'm already dealing with health issues that would probably need a bit of the same. I've also seen my friend do the same for her husband.
Love that movie, and yes I would give up my life for the person i loved if he also loved me just as much.
That is what I am called to do every day. That is why a man traditionally wore a black suit at his wedding, since the color black symbolizes death.
For my ex I would have, until I realized he wouldn't give 2 craps if I lived or died. He probably wouldn't even be grateful for my sacrifice hahaha
If it came down to it, absolutely. It's a no-brainer. Even if we're going through a difficult time as a couple she's still my wife. It's not anything I've ever doubted.
For my husband, yes, without hesitation.
I'm not into girls that are into human sacrifice. That's crazy as hell. I'd rather use my noodle to get everyone out alive.
If I had a partner and there was something I could do to save them I would. Even if I had to put myself in danger to do it.
There's an absolutely awe inspiring woman on here whom I would gladly give my life for, if I had to.
I kind have already done this. I gave up my career and a whole lot of social activities to look after and care for my wife when she fell ill
Not anymore. No. I wouldn't do anything the other person wouldn't be willing to do for me.
If a person is dead, they can no longer do anything for a loved one, martyrdom is pointless.
Absolutely. Without a doubt. I would not hesitate
Yes. I would sacrifice my life for my loving wife without hesitation.
❤ Wow. I don't think I'd feel good knowing my husband sacrificed his life for me. I'd live with that guilt for the rest of my life. But hey, if he think it's the right thing to do.
@TenderFantasy. Yeah. I'm sure my wife would feel the same way. I don't expect to have to sacrifice my life for her, but I would if it came down to it. I have an obligation to protect her.
Absolutely. And never even think twice. I would consider it a small price to pay if I could save anyone in my family. I would even do it for my dog if I had to because he would do it for me.
That is my responsibility as a man. Part of the whole protect and provide. So if that is what was required of me then that is what I will do.
No, and I woudn't expect her to do that either.
When you love someone, you don't expect them to sacrifice anything.
Also even not considering love, nothing is worth dying for. There is no afterlife so you just stop existing.
Yes, any day, without a second thought. My job on earth is to provide for and protect my family.
❤ Aww that's so sweet. I hope she/they know this.
@TenderFantasy they do
I don't think I would. My child, yes. SO, nope
Yes absolutely. I wouldn't only do it for my partner but for my kids and family.
I'd even put myself at risk for a woman, child and animal who was being abused.
"Titanic"... FIRST, there was room on the fucking wood raft for Jack.
Second, men don't get off on the idea of their partner dying for them. Only women are this as romantic.
I agree about the raft 🤣
@Jessikaah91 You think men like the idea of a woman dying for them? You are mistaken.
Without a doubt.. That's what real love is for..
I would. My partner has a son that needs him.
There are many I would risk my life for but no one I'd sacrifice it for.
@emeraldsaphire no, it makes no sense at all
Well, my whole family has passed on, so now I guess I would die for my pets...
No that is totally the man's job to protect me.
yes, of course.
Yeah
I would if I had to.
Yes, absolutely. Life without her is unthinkable
Um, I don’t think so Tim.
No I have a child I have to live for
Yes, in a heartbeat for my SO or child!
Give my life to protect most I care for
Nope (I’m single)
Yes.
yes...
Yes. Unwaveringly.
Duh.
