Love can be complicated. I think the intelligence of our species makes it that way. We don't only think about basic levels of attraction like other animals. We take into account emotional attraction, chemistry we have with that person, and other aspects. Humans tend to estimate what level of happiness a person can give them in life. No matter what we always a transactional relationship with each other. It's never unconditional, even with kids. If kids are demonic and make your life a living hell, or are killers, abusive, etc... they can also lose their parents love.

I'd agree, at this point. it seems like people make love needlessly complicated.

I just witnessed a relationship that was 2 years in the making fall apart. Even though they both like each other; even though they both invested in keeping the connection alive; even though she came from another country to visit him on a 180 day visa; even though she looks at him like the Earth has stopped spinning; even though this guy has every green light sign in the world, he can't bring himself to make a decision about whether he wants to marry her because he "isn't feeling ready yet."

She's fantastic, but he can't be bothered to get off his ass to get after his connection with her.

And the part that really irks my soul; that story isn't even uncommon. I've known lots of men and lots of women who can't be bothered to get off their asses.

I think love is complicated because there is no clear definition of it. If you love someone, you can still treat them poorly, betray them, etc. However, if you respect someone you're not going to do those things. If you asked, "Respect Isn't Complicated People Are" I would vote "Agree."

I'd have to hit somewhere in the middle. Love isn't complicated. But neither are people when they're good and decent people. But the problem is today there are so much trash masquerading as good people. And to a naive person that can really f*** them up.

But personally I think society itself is the big problem. Everything is set up in a way to drive people apart. A devided crowd is easy to manipulate. A united crowd isn't 🤷‍♂️
