How did you decide if your partner was the right person?

We totally hit it off. Conversation flowed and time disappeared.
After dating exclusively for a year, I felt like I could trust her completely. I proposed and, a year later, we got married.
We've been happily married now for over 26 years, had LOTS of fun and built and wonderful life together.
And my instincts were right. She has stuck by me through thick and thin. Not only that, but she's an inspiration.

I always decide though my chemistry evaluation. Does she have similar interests, views, way of thinking, sense of humor, style of communication, where she wants to end up in life, etc. And is she a kind and loyal person? When I find those out, that's when I usually make the decision to be with her

As sappy as it sounds... he completes me. No matter how loud we fight no matter what we do. If he is not sleeping in the bed next to me every night. I can't sleep until he is. When we are away from each other. I anticipate being back together. I don't know if he is the right one, but it wouldn't feel right not calling him my husband.

It's not that I tested him. But every time I thought, I am going to slow, he is probably going to lose interest because we haven't progressed much yet. But he kept coming back.

On top of that we think alike on so many things so quality time is easy!

I imagine my ideal girlfriend and if she could show up in my life and take me away from someone that's not the one. May sound like an unreasonable standard, but my last relationship held up because the bond with that person counts to. And at some point you reach that level where the partner is great for you and you have bonded to the point nobody can get in between, and once that happens I know she's the right one.

When we had disagreements and arguments that didn't result in a breakup. That is a big one I learned about. Arguing is healthy if communication is good and not a screaming/yelling/shouting match when the discussion is had.
