2) What made you confident that they were potentially a Good person to be your partner and then you agreed to go in a relationship with them? Were you looking for a Partner at that time

I met my future, now very recently deceased, wife of 32 years in my driveway on a summer Friday night in 1992 under the most bizarre circumstances.
Long story.
The answer to that part of the question is for a more limited question than this one.

She went on to play one hell of an "I'm gettin' me a man!" game.
I wasn't even aware that such a game existed, or that I was a participant in the proceedings.

I was absolutely not looking for a partner, not then, not ever.
I'd declared myself to be a permanent bachelor many years before she appeared on my driveway.
Well, maybe now I might be looking for a partner, although I find that thought to be oddly strange to me.
I probably just want to GET LAID really good and hard!!!
I do enjoy my solitude.

What made me confident that she'd be a good partner for me, one that I was not even in the market for?
It had nothing to do with any sort of confidence on my part.
