High school wrestlers, what was it like going up against someone of the opposite sex?

Ok so here's the thing , girls were of course much easier deal with if you are a guy who wrestles other big guys a lot

But what makes it hard is that

1) You are not allowed to touch like 25% areas of her body

2) You have to fight yourself to not have a boner too

Ha! While I disagree with 2) I have to give my wholehearted agreement to the first point. 100% the truth.

I don't think people at all realise how awkward it is for a guy to wrestle girls while trying to be respectful. The /majority/ of usual moves are simply not allowed anymore while she has no such restraints. Giving up a major advantage because you'd touch her awkwardly is so, so common.

We didn't have intergender matches and all the guys were of higher weight class

There were only two guys who were in the same weight class as girls and they were not very good at wrestling other guys, yet they would easily throw around everyone on the girls team

Nobody actually into sports thinks about intergender matches because it's obvious for them that men have physical advantage
