Have you ever warned someone to not fall in love with you?

I wrote poetry and I just came across one of my poetry which ends with

“Kiss me,

Trust me,

Dance with me,

But don’t fall in love with me…”

I feel like I have always been warning people not to fall for me, one way or another.

Might be because I know myself better than they know me or because I am scared of the responsibility it brings me to be loved by someone I care for.

Have you ever warned someone not to fall in love with you? I’ve done it when I was younger.

October of 2020, during the lockdown.

I had been talking to this girl from one of my college classes, and it's ironic because before when we had physical classes, I never knew of her that well, let alone felt any sort of attraction towards her, but as we started talking more and more on text or bantering in the Zoom comments during class, we grew closer, and I eventually felt attracted to her.

Or so I thought.

But she had this best friend of hers who was actually attracted to me more, it seemed, and would text me frequently, flirting with me through emojis, wanting to meet up and even video call, and I would find ways to ignore her or delay seeing her messages, because I was obviously attracted to her friend instead. Unfortunately for me, she wouldn't take the hint, so I had to decline her advances by rejecting her as sweetly as possible, which actually blew in my face instead, despite her saying "she understands" and that she'll do her best to help her friend and I get together (an obvious lie). Over the course of the next few days, her friend's replies to my texts became less and less frequent, and eventually, she started leaving me on read.

Now I'm not sure whether or not her friend jeopardized my relationship with her or something, but it's kind of ironic how this happened literally after I rejected her friend's advances towards me. Anyhoo, I had enough self respect to not mope about it, told myself "it is what it is" and never talked to either of them again.

Yes , I have actually , but I think all these things work in reverse phycology , I had this incredible lady , I still think one of the best looking women I was ever with , faultless body , but my reason for saying " No falling in love " was 1. Protecting myself

2 . I didn't want to fck up my plans of coming to Hua Hin ( I hadn't really mentioned that which was maybe unfair ) 3 . She had 2 young kids and I was worried I'd upset them OR ( Worse ) Id adore the kids and that would affect point 2 .

Anyway , it all went wrong because then a month later she came to me and said she wanted it to be full time , and part of me is thinking WTF oh no ! and part is thinking that might be good..

So , I cut myself a little space , and decided , I'd been thinking about Thailand for so many years , that I had to go , so when I initially arrived I was just on a 60 day day tourist Visa , then I flew to KL and back and got another 30 days , so it all kind of got lost in that , and she was pretty pissed with me , but when I first said that to her , she laughed at me , and I can understand that reaction.

Things change sometimes.

About point 2 my friend - i felt exactly the same before I came back to Germany in 2022. I didn't want to risk "having to stay" where I was (and miserably so) just for love.
Now I feel that again but I'm aiming at Pattaya. This time I'm in a good spot and open for love. However I won't expect women here to be ready to move to Thailand with me except maybe for Thai girls, who feel like wanting to come back to their homeland.

Yeah , and there would not be many of them who wish to leave Germany.
But , as you know , Pattaya has everything ( people just think of bar girls , freelance and walking street ) , there is also plenty of great " Normal " ( for want of a better word ) women / business people and the like , plus its so close to Bangkok , when I'm single as I am now , it would be Sooooooo much better to be in Pattaya , and I have another small Condo in Sattitup ( Bang Saray ) , so everyone assumes you are some kind of sleeeze living there , but I've stayed there opposite , and gone to the gym everyday and swam , its just how you expend the energy , so so many options , compared to Hua Hin , which has the knick name " Coffin kickers central " ( a tad harsh 5555 ) ..

Anyhow , I felt a bit bad with this girl , because really I never told her , but I wasn't 100% sure myself back then , anyhow , I offered her a trip but if she was coming I wanted it to be for a month , makes more sense $$ wise on scale , and she said no ( which was probably a good thing ) as she had work as an accountant ( hot accountant ) and the kids of course , and I got a long Visa and just never really came back , except for Brisbane ( post covid ) ..
So 100% , we will have to catch up when you make it here , got a few younger Germans in the Resort at the moment , and I used to host German Women in Australia ( Airbnb ) Why women? No men applied , because women liked to work at this flower farm , they were all backpackers.

I warned my current boyfriend to not fall in love with me earlier all the time. And he was keep saying he is aware of it and it would not happen. But after 6 month of knowing eachother he confessed he has feelings for me and he wants to do everything to get me into his life for ever. And we are now together having plan of getting married in future.

I have in some ways when I noticed two colleagues having feelings for me. One of them is a homosexual person. Due to my bad experiences with being harrassed and stalked by a homosexual ex-coworker three years after he quit work (he for some reason had my number saved), I have a negative taste with homosexuals. I'm not against them tho, just feeling unconfortable with them. I made very clear I have no interest in a relationship or even having feelings with a man. That ex-coworker kept stalking me daily, even by trying to meet me outside work when I'm walking the dog, and asking (almost begging) for pictures of me on whatsapp. So now 5 years later after that incident when I noticed that homosexual collegue having feelings for me and him trying to add me on social media (facebook, linkedin, instagram and snapchat), I told him directly to not bother trying and just leave me alone. I also blocked him everywhere including his number. After that he sometimes tries it at work in a sort of subtile way when I'm talking in the moring with colleagues, by only greeting me or by keep looking at me from a distance. Most likely I'll report him to HR if he will try something again.

That female collegue I did on other way. When we were both working, I had a talk with another befriended collegue of mine and told her (with that female collegue nearby) that I'm not interested in any relationship and just focus on my carreer and live. After that she never tried flirting with me or asking me to date again.

Maybe I was rude in doing so. But especially with that male/homosexual colleague I notice they (homosexuals) don't want to take hints. I had this before with some other guys as wel. So telling them directly (and by being rude) seems like to only way not to get harrassed and stalked again by them. I take ZERO chances in having that bullshit again.

I have never expressed those words but when I was in my mid 20's I made it clear to everyone, that I wasn't looking to settle, and wanted to explore life. Live, breath, eat, sleep however, whereever and with whomever I wanted. Once I turned 30, I continued to make it clear that I wanted to have achieved a few things in life such as a degree, owning a flat, travelled to x number of countries, before I settled. When I turned 35, that's when I took off the bandate and myself available in the market.

Not quite that way in my case although I told my wife when we started dating that I had no intentions of ever getting married. We still ended up marrying a couple years later (at my proposal). 😂

My reasoning for it is that I didn't want to mess up such a good thing. I had been engaged to be married years before I met my wife and, in that particular case with that one ex, all the tensions seemed to rise substantially between us after we were engaged to be married. Like it put too much pressure on our relationship.

So I didn't want to risk going through that with my wife. I loved our relationship too much to risk it getting engaged to be married. It's only when I realized my wife has nothing in common with that one ex to finally build up the confidence in the durability, through the thickest and the thinnest, of our relationship to propose marriage to her.

I don’t know about that. I have told some women that I’m bad for them because I thought their parents were shit. I thought their parents had mistreated them despite their loyalty to their parents.

Although, I have heard some women say that it turned them on when someone they were seeing didn’t give a shit about her/their parents approval. I also believe that if I had been dating them, I sometimes might be a dick and criticize their parents just to get her riled up so she’d take it out on me. I like to tease and have fun. See, I’m bad for them.

In the same vein, I’ve also been told that my blunt honesty does make things easier. Especially if they’re frustrated with men and can’t understand them.

Well… i went on a date with a guy before and told him about all my issues and said that if its too much, to tell me and we dont have to see eachother agin. He kept insisting it was fine and that he really liked me and that he wanted to see me again.
