I'm a pro choice believer and think it's ridiculous that so many people (especially on this app) think it's their call to make the choice for what a girl wants to do with her body.
In most scenarios, I believe that you should tell the man about it, but it is ultimately the woman's choice whether she wants the kid or not. Talks about pregnancy should ideally be talked about in the relationship so you know whether or not you want kids at that point or not.
Absolutely, her body her choice
Howevee it would be moral to keep him in the loop since it's also his flesh and blood. On the contrary I agree with the question because he could be abusive etc etc
Thank you for MH

I support Abortion.
I think, preferably it should be discussed with a partner.
Since both of them contributed to the pregnancy.
It takes two to tango... and it should take two to make such an important decision. Ultimately, it is the woman's decision, but the man should be involved in it.
Yep its totally her choice if she wants to tell him or not
She has the right to do it and not to tell him.
Abortion carries with it complications sometimes, but I was told not as horrific as live birth stuff. Maybe there will be a chance she can become infertile in the future. The chance of a pregnancy for a woman, they said, depends on when in her cycle the sex happens (because of ovulation time) and also the age and health of the mother.
If she doesn't see a future with the person, maybe she shouldn't be tempting fate and playing russian roulette like that. Kids should be a serious thought. She doesn't HAVE to tell him, especially if he's really not a good person or is abusive, etc. But you shouldn't even be with someone like that in the first place. Not just for your own sanity and future happiness but also your child's sanity and stability as well.
Her body, her choice.
It's a baby. There are people by God's Grace that can help you take care of it, you wouldn't even have to tend to it as it can be taken up via adoption. You abort, you live with the very real regret, guilt, shame and trauma. You give it away, you'll regret it but at least life created wasn't just ripped apart. It's a lie, your body your choice but once you have sex and conception takes place, that is a human being-semantics not necessary. The painful thing is you can't run away from your conscious, the baby is a product of 2, i believe those 2 need to both know they created something. God loves you!
so well said
Absolutely. Its HER body being affected, HER life on the line, HER future on the line, HER money on the line and HER education or job on the line. It's her body and her medical choice.
You don't need to tell anyone any medical choices you make for yourself. Should you? If you wanna involve them, sure. But they are not entitled to your medical choices or why you do em.
The man and woman should have an equal say in it. If either person doesn't want the abortion, they should be able to have it and the person not wanting the kid can sign over parental rights.
If they are that irresponsible, they shouldn't be allowed to vote or have adult rights.
Under those circumstances, she has no obligation to tell him and it would probably open up an unnecessary can of worms if she did.
I would assume that a woman would know within at least 4 or 6 weeks if she was pregnant. She could get a chemical abortion within 8 weeks of her last period and no one would be the wiser.
Yes she can, there is a however if she does it and expects the relationship to continue afterwards, it’s a heavy secret to keep and you would notice something was up. If there is a future for the relationship, her partner should know. If she is at risk telling anyone, then yes should do it quietly.
It's her body. It's her decision.
It would be nice to involve him, but as you said, if the relationship isn't good, then why would you involve him and risk him trying to manipulate your decision?
No and let's not play games. A woman doesn't get pregnant unintentionally.
In order for a woman to become pregnant both the man and woman need to have sex several times during ovulation unprotected for pregnancy to happen in most cases.
Approximately 5% of women of reproductive age experience an unintended pregnancy each year.
5% vs 95% who proves my point. Most pregnancies happen because they were intended to.
Everytime a man and woman don't use protection during sex a child is a possibility.
👍🏻
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy exactly. Either they poked holes in the condom or they lied about taking their pill.
When a guy lies about not cuming, then yes it is unintentional. And who even knows when they are ovulating? It only takes once, doesn't have to be many times.
@PeachyPie93 There are apps for those things these days to make it easier for a couple to conceive (or to NOT conceive). Even before that, my grandmother used the calendar method. It works well if you have regular cycles of every 28 days.
@TenderFantasy I don't care enough to do that, but good to know.
I'm not going down the "rights" path. We all have the right to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness.
I would be more interested in that she wants to kill an unborn child.
Maybe she could deliver it and put it up for adoption for a couple who really want a baby but can't conceive.
"We all have the right to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness."
I don't think everyone has a right to life. What about misscarriages and stillbirths? What happend there? Unfortunately, life's not a guarantee like that. And PURSUIT of happiness can mean different things to different people. What if that future person's version of "happiness" is being a serial killer, unabomber or rapist?
Her body, her choice of what she wants to do or not do. If she sees no future for herself with the father, my POV is that it is her decision and hers alone...
it is her body but its also the mans child as well think of it this way say the man had the child didn't want it and wanted to kill it but you women wanted to keep it dont you think it should be up to both of you and put it up for for another family to have there is a lot of good people out in the world that would love to have a child that can't have one if you dont wanna go through having a kid dont have sex
Wow. this is wrong on every level:
1) pre marital sex. this is waht it can lead to.
2) Just treatinga fetus like it was trash. Nuff said.
3) Selfishly keeping this major decision from your mate. What are you doing? Do you even love the guy?
$) Never heard of birth control?
Why wouldn't you tell your partner? If they aren't wanting the same outcome, or you don't see a future with them, then you shouldn't be having sex with them to begin with.
You have to tell your partner, the child is his too. Also I don't believe abortion is ever the correct option.
I don't understand why would the man not have a say?
The man has responsibility of the child only when it comes to child support?
Last I remember the baby is growing inside the women’s body so…
If terminating is exclusively the woman's choice and the father has no say then if he doesn't want it but SHE chooses to have it then he should not be forced to pay any support.
Ever.
Your choice, your responsibility.
My question would be why do you have sex with a guy you don´t see a future with? It´s not like you have to have sex with him.
I'm talking about a hypothetical situation some women might be in. I am not talking about the reason for the pregnancy
I think a woman should give birth unless there is severe health issues. If you get fucked you should be ready for pregnancy anytime as no birth control method is 100% effective.
As a jew, we believe that the woman always has the right to choose. We'd rather you not abort BUT, we still believe she has a right to choose. What republicucks did by taking that right away, was wrong, VERY wrong
It's wholly and solely her prerogative entirely.
Yes it's her body. Most guys wouldn't want it anyways.
The man should have the right to decide if he wants to stay with someone who aborted his baby. Not telling him is robbing him of that right and that's pretty fucked up. Telling him isn't the same as asking permission, there's no excuse to not tell the father.
Her body, her choice, regardless of the situation. She should be aware that if he finds out and they're together, she may lose him.
It is her right to have an abortion. Is it morally right without telling the sperm donor? That is up to the pregnant woman.
Politically it's her choice. personally, if she was open enough to spread her legs, she should be open enough to be upfront with him about it.
Yes, however it's common courtesy to let them know.
Yes, she does, for any reason whatsoever. No one else gets a vote.
That would be legal in the UK, yes. Check laws and statutes in your state.
NO. It is his baby too, and neither of you have the right to murder a baby.
No. She has to tell her partner
She should have that right
that's a hard one
Yes.
Yes!
