my pets are not jealous no, not in a possessive or territorial way, definitely not... lol
and because my family and friends come often enough, and also because when I first got my cat, I had a girlfriend and we all lived together... the cats got used to that feeling of all being a group since I ended up with three cats too
however, Luna cat, being the first... she considers herself the queen and the favorite, all
and if she feels like it, she will claim any spot on the house, or claim me for cuddles and snuggles, and the other cats know they have to make way for her or else... lol
but not when I am with people, nor when I was with my girlfriend, if I am with someone else then she just claims us as hers

there’s nothing you can do. The dog just has to get used to the other dogs or the new girlfriend I’ve experienced that before, and my dog would snap at her and her sister my Rottweiler until she got used to her

YES... I just realized it this week that one of my dogs, Myrt - a small 13-year-old border collie, who has grown a lot closer to me this past year has become jealous of our indoor cat who gets no affection from my wife but I give her it.
So, when I go to bed, Myrt hops up and gives me lots of licks on the face. She's not really a snuggler, but she is affectionate like that. Once Myrt gets off the bed, the cat comes. However, within a minute, Myrt notices the cat with me and gets right back on the bed. The cat then gets off.
Later, when Myrt is likely asleep, the cat climbs back on and sleeps on my thigh.

How do I prevent jealousy? I have to admit that I am not sure. From a dog perspective, I'd say to get the new partner to interact / play with the dog repeatedly so the partner becomes "a new member of the pack". That said, some dogs "resource guard" and that can be a problem that I am not sure how to address.
As for a new pet, well, that depends a lot on the person. My wife dotes on whoever is new (we have 7 dogs including a 4-month-old puppy) and cares less about the others. Myrt was my wife's sidekick who my wife took camping and trail riding. However, it is tougher on Myrt now, so my wife got a puppy 2 years ago. I was pissed because 1) I didn't want another dog and 2) that shits on Myrtle. I won't say my wife has abandoned Myrtle, but I picked up the slack. The old dogs need to know they are still loved and looked after. That's really important. So, my advice here would be the same with a new baby in the family. The parent needs to reassure the existing pet/child that they are not irrelevant now. That's my job in our home - to make sure the others know they were not abandoned and are loved and cared for.I have a possessive and jealous dog, she is my first dog and after a few years later I had three other dogs, she hates it when other dogs approach me or if I approach them she starts to attack them. bark at them or attack them, if I scold her, she sulks and ignores me
I have a feeling when I finally have a girl over my dog is going to be extremely jealous if she likes to cuddle. My dog always cuddles with me and loves cuddling with anyone really. I guarantee when she sees a girl cuddle with me she is going to be giving a dirty look and maybe try and push her away. She won't be aggressive but I bet jealous.
Yeah one of my cars is an attention whore, he gets pissed off if come home smelling of others cats or dogs, even more if I bring a girl home and she has a cat.
My dog isn't jealous, he's protective. If I go near my wife and try to give her affection when he's around, he gets between us and starts growling at me. If I try to make believe that I'm going to hit her, he'll try to bite me but If I'm laying on the couch he will be on the couch right next to me sleeping in my arms.
My first girlfriend had a dog that was jealous. The key is that I would give the dog lots of attention. I'd pet her, rub her, talk to her. Then she accepted me as a member of the "pack" along with my girlfriend. So THEN when I turned my attention to my girlfriend (petting her, rubbing her and talking to her) the dog was no longer jealous but would just lay there and chill out thinking it was just some more bonding in the pack going on!
Yes, have had a couple of jealous cats like that
I've battled jealous possessive dogs. You have to make friends with them.
I think Nala gets a little jealous any time we show Papaya any attention. She never does anything excessive, we just see it on her face.
Of course. The world revolves around her (the pet).
If she isn't behaving, I just turn my back and leave. She'll shape up and come within a few seconds.
Bruh I used to have a dog, and this dog got jealous every time I would talk to someone else 🤣
@elena_stewart no but I do have jealous son 🤣
You let your partner/other pet spend time with them so they becomed as attached to them as they are to you.
I have two dogs that are like that sometimes.
Offer him food.
