Here are some thoughts on how to approach self-love and self-worth when it comes to relationships with guys:
Remember that you are whole and complete on your own. Don't seek validation through relationships - love yourself unconditionally first. Work on cultivating confidence, setting boundaries, knowing your worth.
Surround yourself with people who respect you and make you feel good about who you are. Cut negative influences out of your life, even if it's family. You deserve to feel supported.
Go into relationships as a team, not with one person "completing" the other. Share and support each other as equals through communication and compromise. Don't lose yourself trying to please him.
Take time for self-care - make yourself and your happiness a priority too through hobbies, friends, alone time to recharge. This will also prevent burnout down the road.
Pay attention to red flags and how the other person treats you. A good guy will make space for your goals too, not just his own. He'll be caring, emotionally available and consistent.
Don't ignore your intuition or brush off little "issues" hoping they'll change. Have dealbreakers and stand up for yourself with confidence if crossed. You get to have standards for how you want to be loved too.
At the end of the day, prioritize your personal growth. Build a complete life you love, then add someone sweet to enhance it further. Coming from a place of wholeness within yourself sets the stage for healthy, fulfilling connections.
If you can't love yourself, it makes it really hard to love others.
