Are the words/names that a narcissist calls you actually a reflection of how they feel about themselves?

Many times absolutely it is for instance narcissists are hypocrites 9/10 times. Such as they will talk about someone else cheating on their spouse to deflect away from what they’re doing. If they’re talking about other people and shunning them nobody will ever suspect them even if they’re making roomers up.

If they feel like a loser whose being judged all the time. Well they need to judge you before you can judge them. They need to make other people look bad to make themselves look better when all that does is tend to make people like them less especially the people they are talking about.

What happens when they had multiple affairs on their wife or husband? Well at first they are going to deny it, if that doesn’t work you’ll hear every excuse and justification in the world as to why they did it, and if all else fails comes the fake apology with a BUT…. At the end. They want everyone to have understanding for them their traumas but they refuse to have any for anybody else.

This is because they really lack empathy they only feel for themselves and can’t or just won’t put themselves in other peoples shoes. At best they are indifferent at worst they enjoy seeing others suffer.

There is a spectrum of narcissists though some really just have no idea what they do to other people, some don’t care if the ends justifys the means, and others just honestly enjoy suffering in others.
