Back in my younger days, I thought commitment was just sticking around, showing up to the same person's place every day, and maybe not flirting too much when you're out with the boys. But life, man, it teaches you a thing or two, especially when you hit the big 4-2.

Commitment, to me now, it's like being in the final quarter of a tight game. You're tired, you've been playing hard, and everything's on the line. It's about digging deep and showing up, not just when it's easy, but especially when it's hard.

I remember this one time, my partner got this job offer, a really good one, but it was all the way across the country. I didn't like it but actually it wasn't about what I wanted or what she wanted individually; it was about what made sense for our future together.

Like, if she's had a rough day, I'm there, ready to listen, or if I'm dealing with some tough stuff, she's my rock. It's not about grand gestures, flying off to Paris on a whim (though, hey, that's not a bad idea), but it's those small moments that count. Making her coffee in the morning because I know she's got a busy day ahead, or her putting up with my endless sports talk because she knows it's my way to unwind.

Commitment is also about not running for the hills when things get a bit shaky. Every relationship has its ups and downs, like a grueling season, but it's sticking through those downs, working through them together, that makes the victory at the end of the season so sweet.

So yeah, to me, commitment is about being all in, no matter what the scoreboard says. It's about being that MVP for your partner, not just when the crowd is cheering, but in those quiet moments when it's just the two of you, facing whatever life throws your way, together.

It means you don't quit just because you encounter problems. It means that you put the survival of the relationship above your immediate personal comfort.

It means, he asks me to be his girlfriend and if I say, yes.

Then, I am committed to be in a relationship to him, to be loyal, honest, loving, caring and supportive to him and to love him even after initial butterflies fade away.

Before then, I am free as a bird and I date everyone I want to.

I flirt with anyone I want to.

      I am single.

Until he asks me that he wants me us to be exclusive.

I think what it means to us evolves through time and experience but for me right now it’s unwavering support and respect for the other , doing what is necessary for the good and longevity of the relationship even when it’s really challenging and testing When you truly love and want to be with someone these should go together naturally.

In the context of a relationship, commitment generally refers to a deep and enduring dedication to one's partner. It involves the intention and willingness to invest time, effort, and emotions in building and maintaining a strong, long-term connection. Commitment encompasses various aspects, and its meaning may differ for different individuals. Here are some key components of commitment in a relationship:

    Emotional Commitment:

Being emotionally committed means being invested in the well-being and happiness of your partner. It involves offering support, understanding, and empathy through both good and challenging times.

Apparently it means happy wife happy life.
Apparently it means the man must provide something or she will divorce him. It means he must pay child support and she gets to freeload. It means she gains access to all of his money and he can't argue because they're committed to each other.

    1. No cheating, serious flirting etc outside the relationship

    2. Staying strong/loyal when the relationship has a low and trying to work trough it instead of leaving

    3. Beeing supportive of your partner
