- Not being involved in your kids lives is never a good look. Those kids deserve a dad who's there for them.

- I'd be concerned about his level of responsibility and commitment long term. What if you have kids together - will he step up?

- Living together is a big commitment. I'd want to know his plans for handling parental duties before fully investing in a life with him.

- Have you talked to him about your concerns? What does he say? Is he open to changing or making things right with his kids? His response would say a lot.

- Counseling could help get to the bottom of why he's been absent and give you both clarity. Only he can decide to change though.

- You need to think about what you want for your future - do his actions now match what you want in a partner and father?

Tough call sis. I'd want to see real change and accountability before fully committing long term. Protect yourself but give him a chance if he's serious about stepping up. Keep me posted!
