I would have wanted a family but nobody wants me?

I was mentally and physically abused as a child and couldn’t have any friends. So I was never part of any social contexts and never dated or had a boyfriend. So to this day, I’m involuntarily alone with no close contacts. Am I a lost cause who will be alone forever?

You aren’t that alone. I would wager a large minority if not a majority are either in the same boat or soon to be. You have a lot going against you, and it’s going to be difficult, uncomfortable and discouraging. But you need to make the personal decision to make a change. It’s really easy to simply default into perpetual loneliness and while it’s never too late to change, there is a point in time when it get more and more difficult to start a family.


I highly suggest getting a therapist. You can shop around for one that is going to help you work through some things. But you have to be up front with them and actually let them help you.


I went through some issues in my mid-late 20’s and it really did help. Didn’t help me start dating, but it did help me through some other more pressing issues.

Why nobody wants you? Who told you that nobody wants you and why were abused when you were a kid, also what does being abused have to do with being alone now and rejected by others? 🤔

I wasn’t allowed to socialize as a kid and never got to be in any social contexts, which is where social skills are learned and close relations practiced.

try to socialize more, try to make friends
go out often n interact with others etc

No I actually think it's highly unlikely for anyone to end up alone in a world with so many people, it's unlikely
