I guess mine might be do not prioritize work over your relationship. What is yours?
Hey younger me, here's some advice on the whole relationship thing. First off, it's okay to be shy. Don't let that affect you. Start with small steps, like just saying hi. You will get use to is over time and be more comfortable with it.
Don't afraid to be yourself. Trying to act like someone you're not just to impress someone else? It's exhausting and it doesn't work in the long run. Someone will like you just the way you are.
Listen more than you talk. People appreciate a good listener.
Don't rush things. Relationships take time to grow. Enjoy getting to know the other person. And don't stress too much about finding "the one" right away. It'll happen when it's supposed to.
And lastly, rejection is not the end of the world. I know it hurts, but it is a part of life you need to accept. It means you're trying, and that's a good thing. You'll be okay at the end, trust me.

+1 yFind a good set of friends first before going on dates, and date within the friend group. Community first, love second. I had it backwards when I was younger.
Also don't debate with girlfriends. Debating is a horrible form of communication. Even in its finest intellectual form careful to avoid fallacies, it's designed to persuade third-party judges and audiences, not the opposition. It's designed to prove the opposition wrong, not to persuade them. It doesn't matter who's wrong or who's right. The point of communication should be mutual understanding. So share openly and even point out ways where you could be wrong, don't debate.

@myloveforuisinfinte Cheers! š¤ I think those are the top two things I needed to learn most in the context of relationships.
+1 yThey say that the first commandment really should be, "Don't be a fool." That for me would mean, don't let your heart rule your head. I always let my heart rule my head and every time I did, I wound up getting burned. It's a hard rule to follow, but a necessary one. But I wonder if my younger self would have listened. It wouldn't have been what I wanted to hear.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI don't know but I wish I knew what a relationship was or is, or that they come to the surface.
I knew nothing and ended up with an older man & had his baby, and my boyfriend before the older man gave me herpes.
The two relationships shaped my entire life forever.
I never knew about age, sex protection, diseases or anything.
Now Iām almost 40 with no libido and work my azz off full time working for my child and the fatherās dead.00 Reply
+1 yStop falling for people who wamt you around only when it's convenient and don't really give a damn about you; just because it's easier not to open up, not partake in conflict and settle for someone just for the sake of an illusion that you do HAVE someone. You'll just end up getting hurt even more.
Also don't let men make you feel like you owe them something just because you two TALK lol

Get into a boy band early, and a rock band later. (Or, perhaps even a Country group, as I happen to be a handsome black cowboy.)

+1 yA woman's respect can't be regained after it's lost. There's no trustworthy avenue for that and it doesn't matter if it's your fault or she misunderstood or anything else. The moment she disrespects you, she is no longer to be taken seriously.

One lesson a girl taught me was, "Never be too nice to a girl, because she won't appreciate it. She'' just think you're a wimp and she'll disrespect you!" I don't actually believe that 100% today. It's not true of the girl I married. But at the time, I was very bitter.

+1 yI've never had an issue with communication in relationships and that's why I think I'm good at maintaining them in my opinion. However, if I had to give my younger self any advice, I'd say:
"Never compromise who you are to appease your partner. Always be true to yourself and don't try to change your partner. Look for the traits you desire to begin with."10 Reply

Get your money.
Just fuck hookers.
And lift more weights and drink less alcohol you fucking party animal!"
Oh I almost forgot...
"Fuck some of those fat chicks too!"
