So what brought you to this point and do you regret it? And if you relationship ended - did this decision effect your relationships with others?

Ok, I’ll admit it. I have cheated on my husband and I’ve done it more than once. I know that makes me a bad person in most people’s eyes. I accept that and don’t disagree, Answering why I have cheated is very difficult and I’m not sure I really understand why myself. I love my husband. He is wonderful, kind and caring. I want to be with him for the rest of our lives. While he excels being caring and compassionate, he would be the first person to tell you he lacks excitement and is extremely cautious in every aspect of his life. While that is great for stability, it leaves me wanting more in terms of fun and adventure. We met in high school and married when I was 20. He was the only man I’d ever been with and I frankly wondered what it would be like with a different man. While on a girls only vacation 2 years ago, I allowed myself to be taken back to the hotel room of a guy who was partying with my friends and I at a local bar. Honestly, I didn’t fight it and didn’t feel bad about it. We had sex several times and I really enjoyed it. The next day, I expected to feel a flood of guilt and regret, but it never happened. After returning home, life with my husband was normal. He suspected nothing and we just went on with our lives. Not having any consequences sort of encouraged the behavior and I’ve cheated 3 more times since then. Each time, I returned to the security and stability of my unknowing husband. Why do I do it? I guess the rush of feeling passionately loved instead of just cared for.

Why do I continue? That’s as difficult a question as the original one. It’s probably a combination of the excitement of being desired and the fact that I’ve had no consequences so far. Sometimes I think I’m subconsciously hoping to get caught to generate some passion out of my husband. As for keeping things secret, I stay away from the local area when I stray. I’ve never had an ongoing relationship that I’d call an affair. I’ve had 4 episodes of cheating. It’s easier to keep single events secret than an ongoing relationship. That’s not why I avoid a relationship though. I don’t want a relationship with another man. I only want a relationship with my husband. The times I cheated was because I wanted to feel desired. Each time, I got that. It met my need in that moment and that’s all I wanted. Right now, I’m content with my husband, but I know it’s just a matter of time until I need to find another to meet my needs. I feel bad about what I do, but not bad enough to stop doing it. I justify in my mind that it’s not hurting my husband if he doesn’t know. I’m not depriving him of my love and affection. I’m just supplementing his physical love with another man’s when he falls short of that for me.

Each time I’ve cheated, I was picked up in a bar/nightclub. Except for the very first time I cheated, I went out with the intention of having sex with someone that night. I wouldn’t call any of them lovers. I don’t know what to call them. They were just sex partners, that’s it. I didn’t “make love” to any of them. Not to sound crude, but I just let them fuck me and I fucked them. I have an IUD for birth control. I guess I’ve been lucky not catching an STI. I really don’t take any precautions for that other than asking them if they have one.

I’ve never physically cheated but I have emotionally cheated. I was bored in my marriage, excited at the idea of another man taking interest in me, I felt emotionally connected and validated by this new man, and he was gorgeous. He also saw so much in me my husband never expressed and he was so funny and liking him made me feel so alive. It felt so good to know I was more than just a wife and mother. That I was still a woman with desirable qualities.

I was in a long relationship. She lived 1500 miles away. We only saw each other two or three times a year. i had not seen her in 6 months and she really put very little effort into out relationship. I met a girl at a friends graduation party. We hung out for a while and when the party started to break up she invited me back to her dorm room. We were hanging out in her room and suddenly she asks me if I wanted to have sex with her. I was still a virgin and I did not know if I would ever have this opportunity again so I went for it. I never saw her again.

Never have and I don’t think two wrongs make a right. It’s better to leave a situation then cheat on someone. Most people who end up cheating. The relationship ending is both peoples fault.



I think it really shows the morals of a person especially when it’s sexual cheating. Most the time two bad people deserve one another. Wrong is wrong.



I’m not saying if someone genuinely feels bad. Nobody is perfect. But I can’t stand people who continually justify and excuse their bad actions
