Nah. We've all been there. I've said to a neighbour of mine, lock up when you leave I'm off to bed. Never even gave a reason!

We have each other's door keys in case we get locked out, or I need him to feed my dogs when I go on holiday (I feed his pets too)

No if you are tired and want to go to bed to sleep then just tell him that and tell him that he needs to go to his house but just say it to him in a nice tone and then should be fine with you doing that if you talk nicely to him. X
