Am I wrong for not wanting to be bothered by my neighbors kid?

I first met her last year and she was the strangest child I’ve ever met. She first told me she wanted to rip my fingernails off and that she wanted to steal my dog. Never heard such things from a kid before. It was concerning. Everytime she sees me pull up in my driveway she will wait on me to get out so she can talk. I know she’s just a child and I honestly feel bad for feeling like this but I genuinely don’t wanna be bothered especially when I’m just getting off work. I just wanna go straight in the house. I’m never mean to her and I do say hello to her when I see her. She always wants to hug me too. I don’t like all that.

That's understandable, I think that what she said is just her being a weird kid.. But you know, you're tired, she's not related to you in anyway, and your not just one of her little friends.. At least you're nice to her.. She just seems a bit attention depraved..

You have the rights to feel how you wanna feel besides the kid doesn't help herself with behaving like someone people would wanna be around, to top it all off, it's not your kid, that kid should find something to do

She sounds like a disturbed child. I don't think it's wrong of you to not want to befriend her especially after threatening you. It is sad that she wants to always hug you sounds like maybe she has issues at home. I'm glad you aren't mean to her. How old is she? Have you talked with her family?

No, not at all. I don't blame you for feeling that way. She wanted to rip off your fingernails and steal your dog? That's good enough reason for you to not looking forward to spend time with her or want to hug her especially when you come back home tired after work. You're actually still being quite nice by saying hello and all. It's okay if sometimes you just go directly inside your house without saying a hi and if you don't like her hugging you.. Let her know that gently in your own way that you don't like it maybe say you are reserved sort of person and don't like hugging very often or something. Hope the little one understands your needs for space.
