Why stay at a relationship when you know down deep inside you that it will go nowhere, and you are just wasting time?

For some people is really hard to initiate breakups and they're just waiting for the right opportunity for things to end. Other's prefer to stay in a relationship than being single again. In my opinion if you don't see things going anywhere is best to not waste each other's time any longer.

I don’t know why others do it, but I wouldn’t. Not everything is meant to be.

Maybe they are just overly hopeful things will go in a better direction.

I thought I will be with him forever or it's over right now. I told him to get out! And he did.

I don't seem to do well with drinker's or drug users, including pot heads. Shoot, I hung around that atmosphere in highschool, but it seems no matter how old some people get, they still smoke pot. I think it's very unmature and makes the person appear weak.

I wouldn't try to talk things out, I would try to fix it if it's not beyond that point.

but if nothing is going to change, I wouldn't continue it. We both have the right to look for happiness in some other place

Unfortunately because a lot of people don't want to be alone. And those people would rather be alone with someone then alone by themselves.

Also maybe because on some level they hope (ironically while shopping around for a new partner) that something will magically right the relationship in thier eyes.

I think sometimes we become trauma bounded to a particular person making it hard to leave a relationship.
