There are so many ways to be a bad spouse. After I broke up with my ex I read about warning signs of personality disorders. Also, I decided to look for someone who was consistently kind, avoided petty drama and mind games, and reciprocated my interest in her.

The single biggest tell is how she treats you obviously. Does she look at you as equal partner? Or does she expect you to take care of her. I mean in a marriage the vows are for better or worse, richer for poorer, in sickness and in health. Her past, and past mistakes are NOT your problem! She's either committed to you or she isn't. She either wants to build equally or you or she doesn't. If she doesn't, move along! I promise you it WILL NOT get better as time passes. Too many men think they have to ACCEPT what's out there. You don't. Know your worth! And only accept what you deserve.

If you have and communicated clearly your boundaries and she continually violates them over time.

My ex had indicated that using corporal punishment wasn't off the table with future kids. thats a big no no in my book.

• Piercings (other than earrings)
• Short or brightly-dyed hair
• Any history of any kind of sex work
• Has slutty pictures of herself on the internet
• Woke/feminist/leftist sensibilities
• Has a lot of guy friends
• Has female friends who have the red flags listed above
