Yup.. I did.. but it made me sad not the fact that I loved the person so much, but the fact that I was feeling it that he doesn’t reciprocate it.. the part when you love someone so much and you don’t feel like this is making sense to him or that he cares or that he does the same, makes it sad 😔 my last relationship was like that, he gave me a lot of love and then I started giving him love and this was the moment I felt like I was the one feeling the love and his part was only fake or not enough.. then it became sad and lonely

It’s not love if it makes you sad. Love yourself enough to walk away. You deserve love and happiness. Ask yourself if you’re dating an onion or a person… hugs

I dont think love alone can bring sadness. Rather it just amplifies the emotion when accompanied with an event like breakup/divorce, jealously, death, etc.

    In the truest sense, no.

In the sense of infatuation and general attraction, I suppose so, but you ought not to.

Sad if they are in trouble/hurt or if you realize you can’t be together due to something out of both your control.

But being sad they might not love you as much as you love them is a different story. Not a good one.

Loving someone so much that it upsets you is generally not a healthy relationship dynamic. True love is about making each other happy and supporting each other. If someone makes you sad, it may indicate that love is not healthy.

After THIRTY-TWO YEARS? I assume you've had other relationships since she got rid of you, but what was so special about her? Did she have a great body?

@handsomelad70 If you are genuinely 70, I am rather surprised by this: "Did she have a great body?"

She was very attractive, yes, but I loved her and wanted to marry her and, if I was going to have kids, I wanted it with her. I never felt that way about any other woman. I did move on, but the two women I dated years later were both older than me and had hysterectomies; I did not want children after her. Indeed, I should not have gotten married and should have remained single. Not exactly like "Miss Haversham" from "Great Expectations", but... it would have been best for me to have remained single and I will leave it at that.

You are not 70. The way you speak is not like an adult male north of 50.

I understand (I think;maybe I don't), abc3643. Still, that's over HALF your life, because I believe you're 62. Yes, I'm 70;I'm just far more boyish (looks and outlook on life) than the average 70-year-old man.

Sorry I got your age wrong, abc3643, but I was born in Grace Hospital in Windsor, Ont., Can., one mile SOUTH of Detroit, Mich., July 6,1953, which if my math is correct, makes me three months and one week shy of my 71st birthday.

No, a healthy relationship should make you feel better about yourself. You may have issues you need to deal with before starting a relationship.
