Why is casual sex/sneaky links a thing? And why are situationships a thing? What has happened to our generation?

One main reason is marriage is no longer desirable by many in society.

For the guys, they choose not to marry because the Law seemed too harsh and many felt there are too much unfairness in divorce judgements.

For the girls who are sincere, the high divorce rate and apparent high affairs after marriage made them choose not to marry.

But both genders still need sexual relieve. Hence like a pertwtual cycle, if sex can be satisfied without marriage, then why marry?

The promiscuous trend started around the 80s. Since then it's almost half a century.

This means many Millennial are born out of wedlock. Or entered a step-family.

This further made a generation of youths who never know the traditional value of marriage and sex within a marriage arrangement.

Hence in 2024, many youths are children of Millenials, who are children of the 80s promiscuous.

Since these never know the value of conservative lifestyle, (parents are bad examples) they too become promiscuous. Hence further fostering the lifestyle of promiscuous living.

It leads to the relationship problems we witness today.

People want the benefits of a relationship with commitment. Societal and cultural propaganda from corporations and the government are a big part of it. It is the same idea as feminism. They wanted to double the work force by having women feel like they should be working instead of raising families. It all promotes consumerism and broken families which are easy to manipulate.
