Is it easy to confuse love with falling in love?

Many think fantasizing about your partner 7/24, being on cloud 9, seeing them perfect and feeling the overwhelming butterflies in the stomach, along with your rapid heart beats is love but it isn't. You don't love them at that moment. It's just chemical reactions in your brain. It's just intensive attraction in the end. I believe actually loving them takes time.

Infatuation (falling in love) isn't love. I can now confirm it never was love what I felt towards my HS crush nor my first boyfriend. It was just infatuation and an obsessive fantasy. I stopped liking my HS crush when his real arrogant personality appeared. I blocked my first boyfriend because he's a legitimate sociopath.

Yes. Most people have never actually been in love. What they're actually talking about is limmerance. Most people never actually make it out of that stage.

Indeed and once that infatuation stage fades, if they were just dating then it leads to a break-up. The only reason my parents got married is because my mother was young at the time and still in the infatuation stage in their marriage. She would've never married him if she wasn't for the limerence period so basically she married for the wrong reasons. By now they are really like friendly roommates at this point, just tolerating each other and their habits.

My mom said it herself that she was madly in love in her (infatuated, not love) wedding. Honestly now I think that's actually the wrong reason to get married. If that's the only single reason, even worse.

Yeah it takes to long to realize that but once you do; it's easier to recognize what isn't love.
I think that's why it's not wise marrying someone you're madly in love with but don't even know them well or their flaws.

Looks like it. People fall in love with certain qualities and think yes we are made for each other without actually knowing the person.

Most people are confused. A lot of people say I love you too soon when they're just infatuated. Love takes its sweet time.

Exactly, that's not love. Seeing your partner as Mr/Mrs Perfect and only thinking about being together physically with them and the lustful moments, that's not love; that's still deep attraction.

I'm sure it's the same for women, but from my perspective there are two kinds of men;
1) Men who think about other people sexually from time to time and ADMIT IT, no matter how much they love their partners, and
2) Men who do and WON'T admit it. LOL

Nowadays I wouldn't mind getting married without the infatuation period. Even better because I would be there for the run long, with all their flaws and commit. It's rather have that then be clouded by infatuation.
