No. I couldn't do that personally. That is a small but important component of relationships to me so that isn't a possiblity. Are all people going to be the same? No... I suspect that some are fully capable of doing that and abstaining from sex. I also think that is going to be a minority in general. Personally that is a no go for me. I enjoy the intimacy with my partner even if it is a very small or insignificant time in the scope of our lives. It is special and a time for me and her to connect. So I couldn't do it.

The key to the question is the Wording of “Never allowed to”

that sort of says the couple have an option but are not allowed to choose.

now if both couples agree to not having sex, such as two Asexuals, then yeah it can work.

for me however, it’s part of the relationship and I would want to be having emotional, physical and sexual connection with my partner.
