Supporting men’s mental health insights from real men?

So I have always been a men’s mental health supporter. And since no women can see this I don’t support new modern feminism due to how they’re treating our men. And I was standing up for any guy who’s being disrespected by a woman. Anyway, I would love to hear y’all’s insights for supporting men’s mental health.

I am dating a guy who was going through a really hard time. He’s been in jail for seven months and they have requested a mandatory mental evaluation. And his charges were from him being young because we’re now both 19. He has always told me that I have been able to support him out of all the girls that have ever been in his life. for this being my first relationship, he said I’m doing a good job N every Guy would wish to have SM like U. So I am doing a good job in general, but I would like to go at the situation with more knowledge so coming from y’all I would love to hear from yawls perspective if you were going through a crisis and or need somebody supporting your mental health

I have two questions and you’re OK to answer to either one. If you had to go through a mandatory mental evaluation. What are some ways you would like your partner to support you during your mental evaluation?
And for questions to which is in general, what are some things you as a man would want your woman to do to make your mental health better and to support you in general?

I have been through mandatory mental health evaluations and as far as partner support I have to be honest I'm not sure what you can do other than ask if he needs you to do anything or otherwise just be there for him. I would absolutely suggest looking into drug treatment options for mental health there's so many different types of medicines today that I think they can really be helpful to someone who's struggling with mental health issues

Guys in general pretty self sufficient. All you need really do is provide him safe refuge free of harsh judgement. I said judgement, not expectations. Expect him to be a man, and allow him the dignity of being a man.

I don't why he's in jail either. I know it's NOT and equal justice system yet for both black and white so I'm not judging. But protect yourself nonetheless.

Encourage counseling. Find ways for him to safely relieve stress: meditation, prayer, exercise, etc.

Engage in hobbies to keep him busy and his mind occupied

I appreciate your efforts. Overall there are only two "mental health spaces" for men in the U. S.: Prison or Death.

@karkenAttackin I agree I rather my boyfriend be in jail then dead and that’s why he’s going through this mandatory mental evaluation.

I know of only death as the mental health sanctuary. Can't suffer mentally when you're dead-dead.

Wait a second. Do US prisons have something like a mental health department or something? The prisons i know are only confined cells and nothing more

Some prisons do. But it’s depending which ones i think it’s mostly the federal ones also I think there are some prisons separate for people who do like straight up mental crimes so kinda of like a nursing home but rather it’s a prison and they need extra watching way more then others

I would not go to prisons with my mental illnesses but to the psychiatrists. Which i already do.
