Hey, I have a wife who have some male friends, should I be ok with it or not?
4.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. That’s a tough one man , basically it’s ok for her to have male friends , if she isn’t making plans with them and going out with them without you by her side , it has nothing to do with trust , it comes down to respect for each other. How would she react if you went out with a few girl friends without her with you? Usually opposite sex friends can add fire into your marriage ir relationship if you and your partner are not on the same page with things. So the thing to look out for is if she is spending time with these male friends without you by her side , if she is doing that to you , she is more than likely cheating on you. Don’t confront her until you have solid evidence , my marriage ended with my wife when she made friends with a male coworker that she told me was just her friend , I didn’t make a big deal about it until I saw texts on her phone from this guy texting her sexual things that were inappropriate, to me she was already cheating on me by allowing this coworker to talk to her that way. I saved the messages to my phone for evidence and didn’t say a word to her , to make sure she had no clue that I was on to her , I then ended up busting her red handed trying to meet him at a hotel. That was my final straw to end it with her

+1 yFirst of all, a husband does not have that kind of control over his wife. If he did, she would leave. Second, she can have whatever friends she wants, and husband can have whatever friends he wants. The only limitation is that the friends, whoever they are, cannot damage the husband-wife relationship. If and when that happens, the wife or husband should break off with their friend.

+1 yI saw a video the other day of a woman saying "I'm hanging out with my two favourite men today! Best friend and husband!" before they lifted her up and shared a laugh. There's a reason why all the comments found that really... really weird.
Having friends is normal and trying to hold your partner back from that is controlling. But... hanging out one on one with another man? Frequently? That's an issue. If you're married, you should try to limit your time spent with the opposite sex20 Reply

I have a lot of guy friends and hand to God they’re all just good friends… You have to take a long hard look at your heart and ask yourself if you trust her. If the answer is yes then no matter who the guy friends are, to her they’re just friends. (I don't know the lady, so it’s on you to figure it out…)

Absolutely, I'm all for keeping the trust and spice alive! Having friends of any gender is a sign of a healthy social life and trust in a relationship. It's totally cool if your wife has male friends, as long as you both have clear communication and set boundaries that you're comfortable with. Remember, it's all about trust, honesty, and respect. Keep that love light shining bright by nurturing those key ingredients, and you'll have a recipe for a wonderfully spicy and secure relationship! Lovebombing each other with trust rather than jealousy is the secret sauce here. 😉

+1 yYes let me tell you something. If someone’s gonna cheat they’re gonna do it…. They will find a way.
Yes if I married someone she would be someone I deeply trusted
00 ReplyAs long as I get to know them and meet them myself, they're all already married with kids of their own and their behavior towards my wife is purely platonic, like a brother-sisters', I don't really see why not.
The threat actually only really comes when your wife is being dodgy about telling you about them, they're unusually attractive, they're single, really physical with your wife i. e lots of hugs and touching, and they lowkey flirt and tease, and she doesn't mind but instead reciprocates, yeah that's a red flag and a divorce. No thanks.10 Reply
+1 yWife response: in my culture it is highly disrespectful to your boyfriend or husband to have male friends as the reason men and women spend time together is for relationships, or marriage. My husband (account creator) was raised the same despite being from America so he has no female friends. I have no male friends. In addition we do not spend time alone with the opposite gender. Though Americans have a dietierating approach to relationships so if you feel okay with it then I suppose it is fine. If you feel it is wrong then you should say something.
00 Reply2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. My wife has friends, both male and female. So do I. We know or know of each other's friends and why they are our friends.
As long as there isn't any physical attraction or romance involved, it's fine. We're not suspicious, jealous or possessive. We trust each other. We're not cheating or keeping secrets.10 Reply- 2.9K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yI just love when self-proclaimed "alpha males" pound their chests and "forbid their woman to have male friends because as a male, I know what guys are after!" It's usually ok for HIM to have female friends though, but I digress.
Don't have a wife, but my long-term S. O. and I spend weeks apart sometime, and the last thing I'm concerned about is which friends she goes out with. Her male friends are mine too as are her female friends, but she also has male friends from her gardening and running club that I don't hang with at all. I don't care if she goes out with them when we're apart because --- why should I care? I'm neither insecure nor a Neanderthal. I don't "let her" do things nor does she need "permission" to do the things she wants. We're in a relationship and trust each other; she's not my property.

+1 yI will not have a wife or a girlfriend but hypothetically for the sake of answering this question, no. The only male friends she’ll have will be the same male friends I have in which I trust. She will not have her own separate male friends and I will not have any separate female friends except those who are already female friends of hers who she trusts just as equally as the male friends I trust.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI never understood why people make a big deal with their partner having friends of the opposite gender. I think it’s fine as long as you trust them. My bf’s current roommates are both females and I’m fine with it (mainly because I’m friends with them and know nothing will happen between them.)
10 Reply7.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I don't see why not unless it us somebody she used to date. We used to get Christmas cards from the guy she was engaged to before she met me. It sort of pissed me off but I never made a big deal about it

Anonymous(30-35)+1 ywhy not? she's not your slave and only cater to you. she has a life outside of being married. that is not her whole purpose or personality. she is allowed to have friends. even friends of the opposite sex wow.

Yeah I trust her and I have no problem.. But one of her male friends doesn't stop checking her out
Opinion Owner+1 ysounds like an issue you need to talk to her weird friend about.
+1 yDepends. If they are respectful of your relationship, and obviously respecting boundaries, no problem.
if they are constantly and privately communicating and lines are being crossed then hell no.

It's a recipe for headaches sooner or later.

Opinion Owner+1 y@handsomelad70 I’ve been on this site for 13 years I’ve heard stories that I could tell you about male friends claiming to be a friend of a woman wanting to screw her

I'll bet, and many chaps are hounds, but just as many aren't where married women are concerned.
