Isn't it amazing how it takes one person to completely destroy you and another to lift you up?

I'll refer to my first boyfriend as John and my companion/fiance as Paul.

My case with John, the narcissistic-sociopath:

I got lovebombed for years, scammed with money and he nearly destroyed my fertile years. He lied about wanting marriage and kids. How did I felt in the end? Completely destroyed as a woman and as a human; as if he threw me off a cliff. Then the mocking tone ''oh you're not ready for marriage'' on the phone. Imagine if I told a man ''you're only good for your wallet, you weak fool''. Same thing when he purposely denied me of my goals and natural female desires. So I'm not ready for marriage but yet he referred to me as the love of his life and ''my beautiful wife''. Why the hell did you ask me to be your girlfriend if you were never going to marry me then? My whole family blocked him too. They never want to hear from him again. I regret ever even meeting him. Plus he owes me money and even lied about his real age too.

My case with Paul, 50 year-old, serious man:

We've known each other since the beginning of January 2023 and he came to visit me in Now 2023. Even though neither of us say ''I love you'' nor dedicated songs nor poems, we shared our daily routines, our goals and plans about where to live. We've both dealt with getting scammed in the past. While I got romance scammed, he got scammed with a woman trying to pull a paternity scam long ago. I'm glad things are progressing and just this week, he just forwarded the documents for our upcoming wedding. Those documents have been processed by my municipality court and will be entered into the national datebase system. I had to inform a couple friends because they need two of my friends' IDs are requirement too. While we might not be madly in love, there are feelings are deep appreciation, compatibility, fondness, respect and trust. How do I feel? Great. He's not romantic but is indeed a man of actions and punctual.

Isn't that interesting? It takes one to destroy you and another to lift you up?
