Or do you still believe that's the case?
1.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. In the very beginning I thought that way but then I started living life and just because I want something doesn't mean that the other person wants it too I'm single at the moment and I would like to think that the next person I date would feel the same as I do.. . Even though I look at life in a whole different way now but anything is possible you just have to work it to make it work

1 yAs a child I thought that. I've learned that's not true. I've had many loves in my life.

1 yI don't really know... we were just teenagers... a puppy love... but I wanted it to last forever... I loved writing letters in our code... we learned it so well that we were able to write in the code the same way we wrote normally in Polish... I loved visiting him and feeling him close and sharing first kisses... but we lived quite far away and it definitely didn't help... after three years we decided it didn't make any sense anymore... but we didn't stop writing letter for a very long time

1 ywith my ex before yeah i mean who really wnter into a relationship and just thought of it as fun time. i was so serious. he is my spouse i thought and i acted like a spouse too. all my family, classmates and friends we are like Jack and Jill. we are married couple just minus the legalities. i never thought we would breakup. it is unbelievable but i think God has a better plan for me, for him.
20 Reply 504 opinions shared on Relationships topic. That is indeed how first loves work.
You're young, innocent, and a little naive.
You buy into the fairy tale of eternal love and destiny. That somehow the higher power that gave you those feelings will also give them to the other person.
It takes growth and heartbreak to accept that "love" is a chemical trip induced by evolutionary instincts10 Reply2.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No… first love ended up being a lifelong friend for many reasons, one being philosophical compatibility when it came to relationships the other being his career choice and the final being his tendency to be lazy when it came to initiating things in a relationship. He’s a great guy, but as a potential partner… no dice.

1 yIt's a romantic idea to believe that first love will be your last, but it rarely happens in real life. As people grow and change, relationships also change. Although first love has a special place, we can mature and experience deeper and more meaningful loves with the experiences life offers.
10 ReplyI did think that my first love would be my last 😭 lol...

1 yI wanted it to be but was well aware that the odds were stacked against us. I was about to go to college and she was still in high school so I was aware that I was probably going to change going from a small town to a big city and I knew she would probably change once she went to college. The chances of us still being compatible in a few years were slim and I was correct.

m 1 ythat was back in high-school and no...
we both knew that we would probably not go "forever"
in fact, we weren't even sure at first how much we would last or if we would make it work in the first place, lol10 Reply 1.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I used to believe this , but honestly it was not a very healthy way to think , made me too intense too young , lifes not like that , nice if it were.
10 Reply955 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Probably. I learned, the more expectation and hope I had the more hurtful was the realization that everything was just an illusion of idealistic teenager.

1 yLong ago... I hoped for it when I was in the relationship. Currently I'm thinking wtf is wrong with my younger self 😂
10 Reply 460 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I had hoped so but it wasn't. I knew the chances of it being so were low since most cases of first love are.

I actually believed all women were "ladies" back then to. So that kind of shows how naive I was though.
