here's my experience, I've had girlfriend partners in highschool and realized they are childish as hell.. they want things immediately just the way they want it to be and don't settle or be very helpful with anything that doesn't immediately concern them, and if you can't provide them with what they want that very instance they just go and look for other guys and cheat behind your back because they have plenty of guys to "go hoe for"
Fast forward to now I'm still with the partner I made after highschool. Why? Because she's literally more grown up in how she handles things and respects loves and appreciates our relationship, she's not always wanting things immediately, she's helpful with things I have, and she listens and is patient enough for me because she honestly tells me she doesn't need any other guy.
Long-story short, the longest relationship I had with a girl in highschool while I was in highschool only lasted 2 years at most. After highschool the longest relationship I have now has been going steady for 4 years now, to me its amazing. Maybe I just got lucky.
