Ladies of GAG, would you leave, or cheat on your husband/significant other if he was injured in an accident or became very sick?

It's a simple question.

I have a family friend who almost died in a car accident. Some drunk asshole t-boned him on the way home from work. He had casts on his legs, and Wes bed ridden for almost two months. During that time, his wife chose to cheat on him. I can't understand that. Her excuse was "I'm a woman and I have needs". She wasn't sorry, she wasn't remorseful. Thankfully his daughters (aged 14 and 17) refused to have anything to do with their mother after this.

How can someone forsake her vows. "for better or worse, sickness and in health, for richer or poorer."

I know men cheat too, and I know why they cheat. But this is not about men, because statistically women leave men more often when sickness and job loss happens than men do.

Having said this, there is a couple who the wife became paraplegic and she wanted her guy to divorce her... she did everything that she could for years to convince him to divorce her... This year he IS, on fact getting the divorce, not because he doesn't love her but because the full-care facility she wants to go to for her remaining years is $$$$ if they factor the guy's salary into their combined income but it's free if she's single and handicapped. So they're doing this thing... Their three young children are very confused about it right now, but she's in no condition to take care of them, to tend to her man, etc. (A very Ethan Fromm type situation.) Hopefully in their case everyone will end up relatively better off. Who knows.
