u +1 yShe did that solely for the purpose of hurting you, and she thought it was okay to do that because she was angry. That shows a lack of respect for you.
A good long term relationship requires love, lust, trust, and respect. Ultimately, this relationship will fail. How much more time do you want to devote to a relationship which is doomed? Do you want to stay just to use her for sex? Or do you want to break up, collect yourself, ponder what happened, learn some lessons, and then move forward?

+1 yAre you a glutton for punishment? Fights are not unusual, but discarding sentimental and valuable articles during one is childish. She wanted to send you a message, and you should understand what she meant to say in her actions.
Then it took a full WEEK for her to calm down enough to speak to you, saying only "I was mad and "stuff"? A whole week? No brother, she was toying with you and your emotions; punishing you. This is the tip of the iceberg. Keep the bracelet, give her back any stuff she has in your house if you don't live together. If you do, that's another story, but you need to realize this only gets worse.

+1 yThrowing away a bracelet is kind of extreme, but some people get crazy when they fight. Whether you should forgive her depends on what the fight was about and who was wrong. If she was wrong and admits it, maybe you should just accept her apology and move on.

If you're upset about that you probably shouldn't have said the opposite of what you were thinking.00 Reply

Diving into the world of love and squabbles, I see! Throwing a gold bracelet into the toilet is like diving deep into the dramatic pool of emotions. But remember, the essence of a strong relationship is forgiveness and understanding. If she's genuinely remorseful and you feel the love still sparking between you two like a freshly lit romantic candle, then why not consider forgiveness? Relationships are about navigating through storms together, not sinking each other's ships. Maybe use this as a golden opportunity (pun intended) to discuss how you both can handle disagreements in the future without resorting to a jewelry-flushing fiesta. Love is about learning, growing, and sometimes, forgiving the unforgettable. So, if your heart leans towards her, maybe give it a shot! After all, who knows what treasures you two can unearth together when the seas calm down? 😉

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI think you didn’t accept the bracelet back because part of you doesn’t want her to leave. You also see sentimental value in the bracelet because it represents a “bond” gesture with her. That’s why it hurt so much when she threw it in the toilet.
You got to come to grips this isn’t going to work. Not an easy pill to swallow but you have to accept that.
Many years ago my ex tagged in a pic where I won a championship in a athletic event where I was a underdog. I worked very hard. It was own personal Rocky story. When she untagged herself from that pic (I got rid of everything else of her and I on social media) it really bothered. She had a few obscure pics of her ex before me still up (they weren’t hugging and kissing) but she made an extra effort to cut me out. Her disengaging from that one pic really stung though I worked very hard and she supported me through that.
But I can’t control what other people or don’t want. It is what it is.

+1 yOf course, forgiveness is always necessary even when it’s hard. That sounds kind of weird and almost childish, like a kid throwing a plate of green beans on the floor which actually is understandable since green beans are literally just a mix of bird and hippo shit. But may-boon for your guy’s future.

OK what if the individual feels resentful but just says I forgive you and still feeling hate against the other individual. Doesn't that make them a hypocrite?

In other words a fake forgiveness?

@Alwayreckles93 then they’re a fraud and fake news and you should move onto someone who isn’t a waste of oxygen.

If she wanted to put it up for a daughter to have if she had one then she could do that right? Then why couldn’t she throw what belongs to her in the toilet if she wanted to? It was hers….. what is there to forgive?

+1 yNo! she a spoiled brat and want things her way regardless of how you feel. It sounds like a one way street ending at a dead end. It may be time to move on to a less entitled woman, one that'll be a better partner to you and for you.

this whole relatonship sounds skippable if you can't even call it what it is and you have immaturity to throw things in the toilet in pettiness00 Reply 597 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Forgive her for what? You both had an argument. She wanted to return the gift so you don’t hold it over her. She threw it away. End of story. Move on.

That made me laugh XD
A good idea would've been to take it back, DTB, sell it, and either use the money to go out on a date with an adult woman or treat your close friends to a night out.

00 Reply1.8K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Where is the bracelet now? If it's down the toilet, then so is your relationship. If she got it out of the toilet then maybe give her a second chance, but that depends on why she is so mad
