What’s your meaning of relationship vs situationship?

So this guy was staying and leaving multiple women, giving them engagement rings, and constantly intentionally being thrown out of the house. Women was giving him money but he didn’t buy anything for them. He kept giving them less than 10 minute sex according to the women. He had women basically taking care of him. One woman spent more than $5,000.00 on him.

Personally, situationship was when I was with a girl and we had our reason not to make it official yet. Except that in every other way it was a relationship. We were exclusive, we did everything a relationship would do. We were committed to each other, and we knew if either was sick of that and asked the other to be in a relationship the other would say yes. But it was a relationship that was long distance and we wanted to ask each other in person. Naturally once we could finally meet after the lockdowns began to lift I asked her in person.

I don't agree its just having sex with each other while one hopes for more, to me its a relationship that's not official yet because of a good reason not to be official yet.

Relationship is a serious thing and both people are committed to one another. Situationship is FB, friends with benefits, hookup, blah... blah... blah along those lines.
