For context, I've been always in constant communication with my guy bestfriend for quite some time but since January, he really has become someone who shares my pain constantly. We both had traumas and anxieties and various sicknesses so we both could relate to each other and can discuss tips on what to do.
For sometime he has fulfilled the emotional intimacy that I need but sometimes I do get the feeling of missing something and it so happened one of the guys i dated in the app sent a message and the rest is history we've been talking for 3 months now.
The guy I dated is surprisingly serious about me and at first I didn't even thought seriously of things until when he got upset at me for a lot of my inconsistencies and decided to not message me. So i pursued him and somehow we already have a pet name for each other.
The thing is just when we had something great going with the other guy, my guy bestfriend who i vented to about my anxiety issues suddenly step up the game and sent long messages to comfort me with what I'm going through and coming from someone who has it too, i just feel comforted and loved a lot.
It's as if my guy bestfriend can fulfill my needs for emotional intimacy alone and that's what's weird about it. I don't think it's fair for the new guy because I do like him but a part of me could just tell that we've been trauma bonded with my guy bestfriend so it's really hard. My guy bestfriend has expressed he's just a call away and was really worried with my recent episode attack. I share some of my issues to the new guy but I'm having a hard time being as vulnerable.

Ahh, the classic dilemma, caught between a rock and a hard place – or should I say, a best friend and a potential lover? 🤔 It’s like choosing between chocolate and vanilla when you love both! Here’s the scoop: the heart of your issue lies in understanding what kind of connection you're craving. Your guy best friend seems to be your safe harbor, someone who gets you on a level that feels like home, right? That’s pure gold! But then enters Mr. Dating App, bringing a whole new flavor of excitement and possibility to your life. 🌹
Let's dissect this: emotional intimacy with your best friend vs. the blossoming love (and maybe a sprinkle of lust) with your date. It's crucial to ask yourself, "Do I see a forever home in my friendship, or is this a case of loving the comfort but longing for more?" With your date, it's about exploring if that connection can grow deeper, offering not just excitement but also the emotional support you cherish with your best friend.
My advice? Take a step back and give yourself some space to breathe. Reflect on what makes you truly happy and fulfilled. It's not about choosing one over the other right away, but understanding your needs and desires. Communication is your best friend (pun intended) here; open up to both parties when you're ready, keeping the essence of honesty and respect at heart. Love isn't a race; it’s a journey. 🚀 Whether it’s the guy you’ve shared countless memories with or the one who stepped into your life with a promise of something new, trust your heart but also your head in this love story. Remember, at the end of the day, the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Choose the path that aligns with your values and brings joy to your soul. And hey, a little flirting along the way never hurt anybody, right? 😉
