How patient are you with others? Does it differ with how patient you are in a personal relationship?

Are you a patient person in general? How many chances will you give a person to get what you're saying or catch up with you conceptually?

Does your level of patience differ when it comes to personal relationships compared to your patience with people at work. etc?

I tend to have a packed schedule and so I really value my time. While I can be patient, there does have to be a reasonable limit... Do you also set a few limits? Please share. :)

A hard question to answer, usually i'm a tempered man, i get angry fast and if someone crosses the limits, i become dangerous...

STILL i have so much patience with close people that i love or with some of my real friends and sometimes i feel just having so much patience for everyone, i don't have a fixed mood all the time...

Me weak point is my mother and son, it's like i have infinite patience with them, especially with my son when he does wrong things especially in his age (17 y. o) at this age they tend to be so much active, high hormones... etc

If i had a wife that i truly love, i guess i'll have so much patience with her because no one is perfect and we have to comfort each other and be positive when they other is negative and work on each other to always make ourselves happy and feeling excellent since after marriage god makes us one!

Back when i was a kid and in my early teens, i had so much patience till the point that some thought that i'm a weak stupid kid but life had been harsh on me and taught me so much lessons and took all the patience from me, because the better of a person i was the more life had shut it's doors on me while opening them to people who are evil, sh*tty and garbage, i guess that's how satan fights the good people!

A good parent will always have infinite patience for their children... and a good child for their parent... even though some situations are complex, winding roads. (As you mention, nobody's perfect.)

I find spouses and partners don't always get the "infinite patience" card, which is interesting to me...

Yes, we all lose a little bit of patience every decade or so as we get older. It's a natural part of life and we have to be mindful of our personal limitations with that.

It's the spouses who must have infinite patience towards each other since they are meant to be together forever and in a real marriage miss dish, no one can be closer to you physically and spirirtually more than your spouse because you can't be one with your parents or kids or anyone else except your husband or wife!

That's why god gives so much importance to married couples and taught them what it means being the 1st priority to one another

I personally haven't found that sort of person in terms of a spouse and now I don't look anymore because I just need to focus on having a peaceful life after living a life of constant trials and challenges. People today are just too selfish and shady. Too many who are given the key to our heart end up hurting and abusing the person who has offered themselves openly to them. It's a tricky sort of connection... not at all what the books teach us about loving partnerships. I mean... just look around at all the bitter posts and questions... It's a serious issue.

By contrast, I think we love our children and parents with a respectful depth, which is why we give them more chances.

I agree that in theory marriage is supposed to be divinely blessed and guided, however not enough people actually take that seriously enough to embark on meaningful marriages that are meant to last.

I ain't looking for a theory or for someone who reads the teachings but does not practice it, when someone gives me the key to her heart and trusts me blindly, i make sure to keep things like this forever at all cost, people think that it's hard but actually it's easy, when you believe that your spouse is you and you are him, which means treat him or her the way you treat yourself than you will find it easy to overcome everything but all you need to do is to find such a person and that's where the problem starts, i rarely saw someone like that and if i find someone like that, the 1 million dollar question always comes to my mind, will they REMAIN like this forever or will change with time 🤔

@DishLady You just dropped the truth bomb there. Modern society has become so selfish, arrogant, narcissistic, impatient, unloving, I believe the modern technology computer smart phones, have skyrocketed those undesirable traits. Think about life before the internet wasn't it simpler / better?

Yes WW2 was bad but I'm talking about the years after WW2 so let's just say the 50s '60s '70s and '80s and maybe the early 90s

I think I'm patient for the most part. I'm especially patient with friends and partners. I don't think my friends have ever seen me angry. And I've only had a couple conflicts with my past partners, none of which I exploded in anger in. I'm always the calm one.

I think when it comes to strangers, I also have a lot of patience. It takes a LOT to get me to get pissed with someone unless they're blatantly being rude and insulting me and in the rare occasions I do lose my patience, I tend to just walk away.

However, with my family... that's another story. They have a way of getting under my skin like no others. I still wouldn't say it's frequent, but each interaction seems to build up more and more frustration with them to the point where I blow up sometimes (like once every 6 months ish)

TRUE... Family always manages to do that. They're the only ones who know you since birth so they know where all your "buttons" are and get some kind of fun out of pushing them all at once... Just like a kid who comes into an elevator and pushes ALL the buttons.

I get what he's saying and I have said it may times on this website, that life was much simpler and people were nicer to each other.

Then came the internet and worse yet, cellphones. But even worse is how social media has changed people and not in a good way either.
It's too bad people used the internet to teach people to be hateful, selfish, rude, narcissist's, making cheating the cool 😎 thing to do "Because everyone cheats" so I've been told.
