How can you tell if someone is genuinely interested or just chatting casually with no deeper motives?

A guy who is just chatting will keep topics light -- like healthy living or books you've both possibly read... perhaps a class project. He ALSO won't contact you constantly, so... there's that.

As far as "MOTIVES" -- if you're talking about SEX, just say SEX. It's not a forbidden topic on a site about relationships and sex, kiddo.

Yeah, if a guy is shining his light on you, 90% of the time there's some sexual thought flitting through his mind. You can either sit there like an f-ing veal to be devoured or get out of the way and save yourself.

Sometimes you have to ask…. Don’t expect anyone to be a mind reader. Be respectful and if they aren’t then frankly they aren’t even worth being your friend. Just be glad they rejected you.

Most people will be cool and let you know respectfully where you stand with them. Some people are genuinely good friends and nothing more. Personally I think genuinely getting to know someone is far more meaningful then casual sex and eventually getting witn someone who you’re just smashing. Those relationships don’t last long

Difficult. I would take an opportunity to make casual contact and judge. Everyone is different so inherently difficult. If she is paying me a lot of attention I would think interested.
