Am I wrong to feel like this because he bought me a fake bag?

Long story short, let’s start off by we had a long break. Technically break up for about four months. So we were talking yesterday and he was saying how much he misses me and I do miss him too. Listen, I am not a person to expect anything nor does it really matter.

He bought me a lv bag that is fake. I have two real ones. The bag literally had almost like a little Plastic smell. the box is the same yellow gold color but the print wasn’t as big as the normal box. I know what’s fake and what’s real. so he said he wanted to show me how much I meant to him. I feel cheap as if I really don’t mean anything to him. If you get what I mean? it’s just annoying me when all I wanted to do was to simply rekindle our relationship. he thinks that I don’t know that it’s not real. Am I wrong for this? Makes me literally kind of pissed and disrespected.

Tbh girl, I doubt it was meant as an insult or to be cheap. He probably either didn't know or didn't realize it being real was a big deal. If you're really interested in pursing things with him, I'd start with a conversation in which you respectfully explain your concern/what meaning you interpreted, and then hear him out. He might feed you a load of crap, or he might hear you out as well. Just make sure you approach the conversation with an open mind and the idea that he might have genuinely been well-intended. If you act accusatory he'll be defensive regardless of what you say, and there's pretty much no way the conversation will be productive.

Then, make a judgement based on what he has to say as to whether or not you're interested in pursuing things further with him.

(Alternatively, you might just admit you know it's fake or casually slip that sort of message into the discussion and see what his reaction is. I don't know if your mans is a good actor or not tho lol)

It’s just that the way I saw it was if you can give me some thing fake everything else would be fake again the lies and everything and he knows what’s fake and what’s not I just didn’t say anything because I was not trying to bring something like that up I just said thank you and I still didn’t bring it up

I get it, but if the insult is in his intention (and not the object itself), then you need to figure out what his intentions are, or decide that it's not worth the trouble sorting it out with him and move on to someone else

I agree with some other comments here. If it was real, you would have no real issues. It’s more of the fact that it’s fake and now your relationship still isn’t rekindled. And if you actually cared about rekindling the relationship, you wouldn’t have said anything about the bag being fake, but more so why does he choose to throw materialistic items at you when your argument has nothing to do with materialism

It would be a bum play to lash out $3 for a fake one and try to pass it off as something he has spent $1,000's on.

If I were you I would be more thinking he is trying to deceive me, so in what other ways will he deceive me. Rather than how you are saying you have reacted. If I catch a girl out in a lie I drop them. No one can afford an intimate partner like that.

It is just possible that he has been scammed. Girls might know how many stitches there should be in a bag but guys don't. Locally there was a dispute on a bag sold through a reputable outlet around this. The outlet says they have provenance for it and the girl wants her money back.

You are judge and jury on this. You could ask him how much they cost him (because you are worried he was scammed etc) but people rarely say they lied to you.

It’s a speedy with outside pockets on both sides and it came with Japanese cards in the envelope but it looks nothing like a Louis Vuitton envelope. The only thing that gets to me is if you can come back to me after trying to rekindle our relationship and then you say sorry for all you done and then you come back to me it with a fake bag. He knows what is real and what is not. Again, I’m not mad at him. It’s just I’m very cautious again. Put me in that place again.

Yes you’re wrong. It’s a stupid bag. Fix your relationship. It’s just a materialistic thing that women want so they look rich, when most women carrying that kind of bag have little to nothing in their bank accounts. I think it’s just you. Not to be mean but so do a lot of other people. I think you’re thinking if I’m out in public w that bag someone will call me out, maybe your friends. So you’ll feel embarrassed by it. But like I said does he even know what an authentic bag looks like, feels like. The dated codes, etc. when I was in my mid 20s, I took my girl to New York. I didn’t know myself at the time but there were shops on the streets selling these bags. I got one for $100, she pointed it out to me cause she was w me that it wasn’t real. But she didn’t care, it was the thought, the gesture, just being together, young, in love. But 20 years later I now know.
