I went out with someone once, after a few weeks I slept overnight at her place and I could have sworn I turned my phone off before we went to bed. In the morning she had to get up early for an appointment and I slept some more. When I looked at it after she left, it was on. I didn't say anything, because I couldnt really remember 100% if I left it off. But I couldnt care less if she went through it, there was nothing out of the ordinary on it. Still that is kind of weird. I probably wouldn't do it, unless I felt something really odd was going on with her behaviour, even then that is kind of invasion of privacy

Yes I have , Only when I suspected she was up to no good and felt she was lying to me and acting distant from me , If I didn’t check my exes phone , I would of never known the truth , so I am glad I checked it and not wasted anymore of my time on her.

Never, he has told me his passcode but i don't remember it, sometimes when we road trip i play music from his phone, he gets messages but i never read them. Only once in the beginning i noticed that a girl was texting him so i just asked who she is he explained she is a coworker and offered the texts to me but i refused to read them i chose to trust him and not have unwanted headaches. I would be mad if he checked my phone without my knowledge because i wouldn't want him to read the texts with my girl friends. Otherwise he knows that if he wants to check he can always ask me but he never does.

No, I’ve never checked my partner’s phone. That’s just weird. If it’s near me and rings/buzzes is just say, “Babe, check your phone…” I won’t be with someone I don’t trust.

Yeah, I’d be pissed bc I have a lot of work-related stuff on my phone and don’t need to have folks fiddling with it.

Yes, to find proof that he was cheating. I already know but I didn’t take pictures so I went through his phone to show him. I’d be annoyed if my boyfriend was looking through my phone but he knows my passcode so he has open access to my phone, I got nothing to hide.

Each relationship is different. I'm the type of person who has never peaked inside a medicine cabinet in another persons home.
His phone is available should I want to look. I don't.
My phone has been gently removed from my hands to block abusive moderators here, among other members, from time to time. Then handed back to me. And I'm fine with that too.

For what it’s worth, I always trusted her 100%. It wasn’t until the guy’s friend informed me the guy was having an affair with my then wife. This is what caused me to check her phone. Before that, I would have never.

I never have. And yes, I would be offended if she secretly went through my phone. It would make her look like an immature, sneaky, dishonest little shit. And it would show a level of suspicion and lack of trust that would destroy my trust in her.

No I have not gone through his, and no I would not be offended if he went through mine. We have each other's passcodes, and we are free to borrow each other's phones for whatever various reasons. As long as it is not inconveniencing to the other person in the moment, of course. We've been together for 6 years, and we don't worry about stuff like this.

I will say it would be weird for someone you're not in a serious relationship to be asking for your password, though.

But I will say that he had many cellphones through the years and when I got to see what was inside before he could lock me out, I really wish I hadn't looked 😔

Of course, I always say, it's not right to look through someone's phone, but it's not a mortal sin either. However if you are looking through your partner's phone, whether or not you find something it says something about your relationship something wasn't right to start. If she wants to check my phone, it's because she doesn't trust me and thats a red flag for a relationship. I'm open with just about everything, but invading another's privacy is a red flag. If she gave me good enough reason i would let her look through my phone, but if it's because she is paranoid due to her cheating ex's, then its insecurity I'm not going to feed

Yeah i have an open phone policy with my partner he can’t lock his phone i can’t lock mine. I get easily suspicious and jealous and i need transparency and honesty there is noo reason to lock our phones from each other in a relationship!!
