1.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I think you sell your self to short.. . and only you know the reasons why.. but that's ok. It just means you need to work on the things you think are the reason why.
I think you feel you would be hurt to.
You have to realize. No. Matter what we all have been hurt. And we all have made it through it.
I think people who are afraid to live life are the ones who suffer this the most.. .. life is to short not to believe in yourself or some one else...
For me I would rather have the pain of loving someone and it not working. Then the pain of never knowing. What could have been. And all the good things that might come from it... It's kind of crazy to say but a lot of good things come from pain that we cannot control. That we get from others. . And I'm talking about only in relationships when we love somebody and they don't love us that it's okay we gain knowledge and we. In a relationship even in life we're here to become the best we could become and if it fails or if we fail. It's okay because what we gain is something somewhere down the road called success everything is a building block the stepping stone to life and enjoying it..10 Reply

No I don't believe that I would and the reason for this is I have been a Lone Wolf my whole life with a very few times that I wasn't and believe me it wasn't for the lack of trying but I guess I wasn't built that way. So I guess I am destined to be this way but a word of advice to the younger guys like me:... You may believe that it is a great lifestyle and I know that it is but that lifestyle that you are enjoying won't last but hey I got a good 40+ years of it ut it or I should say you start to slow down and your looks and body starts going for a shit, anyways I guess what I'm trying to say is that along the way if you come across that special woman and believe me you will so you might want to think through the path your leading and then take a good hard look at her and then think about that path. Because now I think back I missed a lot of chances with some very special and beautiful girls but hey I sure had a great time and I mean the best time but take it from an ol' pro... IT DOESN'T LAST...
I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for and if not you can do what you want with it00 Reply
Anonymous(18-24)1 yI hope so. I would try to be. Mental health issues create some unique difficulties in my romantic relationships, but I love deeply. I hope someone someday will love my positive qualities enough to look past the negative ones.

1 yI think I'd be a great one. I want to be the one who works in a one income household, have children and be an active role in my family and an attentive husband to my wife. I want to take care of my family and have a role in a community.
I think my biggest issues are I can be "smothering" or overly affectionate for some girls. It surprises some as it's not something you'd expect from me based on my behavior in general and that has turned some girls away in the past.
Additionally I'm pretty stubborn. I am open to suggestion but you have to walk me through anything I disagree with and I will poke holes wherever I can in your logic. This has led to several arguments but I argue with as little emotion and try to lower my voice specifically whenever I do argue.

1 yI believe myself able to, but can't say it's going to be very adventurous. I'm supportive, i have a wide variety of knowledge, im a nerd, i cross city bicycle, i give relaxing massages, i have a great amount of craft knowledge... but my financial overhead for fun is about $150 a month... which doesn't go very far nowadays. Plus, with my GERD, drinking is off the table.
Simply put, great partner, but boring person. I honestly would rather cuddle with a movie, or go bicycling along a scenic trail instead of going out clubbing, shopping, or bar hopping.00 Reply
1 yI don't really totally understand what "being a partner" is. I mean, how is it any different than "being a friend", especially since now we have "friends, with benefits", right? Does that mean our friends do our taxes for us?

Asker1 ySure 🤷♀️
I would certainly try to be, but whether I am or not is up to my partner as well. I could be a great partner for one person, and a terrible one for someone else while acting the same. Some people just aren't compatible.

1 yI think I check off on most of the boxes, except I'm broke and trying to get my life together, which seems to be the biggest factor for girls around my age. So from my standpoint, I think I would be, but from most girl's standpoint, I'm not.

1 yTo be completely honest, no. I'm a mess. And yet my boyfriend loves me anyways knowing how messed up I am. I just don't get it.

Asker1 yHonestly, I would feel the same way if I was with someone. I would wonder why they haven’t left yet.
- 1 y
Yep, I don't understand why he hasn't left yet. He puts up with a lot.
Asker1 yHave you asked him?
- 1 y
Yes and he claims that he's as much as a mess as I am but I don't believe it.
Asker1 yWhat makes you want to continue the relationship?
- 1 y
I'm in love with him. I would have ended it a while ago if I hadn't fallen for him.
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yNo. But I would be a solid one. And one thing I pride myself on is my ability to learn from my mistakes. So the partnership would only improve if she was committed as much as I.
But it's all good since this relationship will always remain a hypothetical possibility state and never a reality.😆 They say you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I disagree. I say if you don't try, you cannot fail.

1 yNope... The previous one has killed me off; I am too broken, too damaged, and I don't dare to get into another relationship.

Asker1 yHonestly, if someone were with me for that long, I would wonder if they’re trying to find a way out but they’re just stuck.
Opinion Owner1 yLol I don’t have to wonder that by her actions

Asker1 yIf you knew what type of person I am, you would know why.
Opinion Owner1 yOk what type of person are you?
Asker1 yI can be mean to people. I’m just not a people person.
I can make people miserable by ruining something good.
I’m the worst person to be around
The list goes on but that’s the gist of it.
Opinion Owner1 yBut why do you choose to be mean?
Asker1 yBeing nice gets you taken advantage of. And it gets you nowhere in life.

I was chosen, not '"accepted" - 1 y
At least that's how you justify it to yourself. As I understand it, there’s nothing special about you. Those girls must have been desperate. "Affinity" is indeed one of the more important pieces of the puzzle, but not the only one.
- 1 y
@idonotlikeyou you do have an interesting concept of what understanding means, Dr...
I wouldn't.
