Would you leave your partner if they got arrested?

For me it would depend on the charges, and if they are true or not; and especially if she hurt someone.

I think a lot would depend also on her sincerity about it or not with me.

I ask this questions because we recently had a media case on the news about a woman - former policewoman - on trial for alleged self-defense murder of her lover and her husband was supporting her in the news despite her cheating on him. Then the prosecution found proof it was a premeditated murder, the plaintiff used to take bribes and allegedly was planning to hire hitmen to murder her lover's wife and son.

Her husband did a complete 180 turn and not only stopped defending her on the news but also initiated divorce and a lawsuit against her.

I don't even jaywalk and have never received a ticket, so why would I want to be with someone that breaks the law?

I can understand it depending on the context, like if she was defending herself and didn't have witnesses is one thing, but for that to be the person she's cheating on you with? That alone should be reason for divorce.

Then you're telling me that she was taking bribes, hired a hitman and there was evidence it was premeditated? Absolutely no way in hell my guy. I would've divorced much earlier than that guy did.

It would depend on what they were arrested for. As a general rule, I would support my partner, and not leave them, especially during troubling times.

If they defended an innocent person and things "escalated" with the perpetrator, I wouldn't leave them, instead I would cover for them.
If they stole a bank, I would still stay with them.
If they stole a civilian, I would leave them.
If they did something vile, I would blame my intuition for not noticing the signs and I would be sick of them/despise them and myself too for not being able to notice.

Damn there are so many reasons when it comes to getting arrested that I can't answer for every single instance off the top of my head.

If he was arrested for something it would be a good reason. They are too thoughtful and practical, by the book. I would have his back before knowing the details.

I would leave if the circumstances of the crime was a strong indication that my partner had a strong moral flaw.

It depends on what they got lugged for . Murder or a drug charge I would be gone. If it was tax evasion or if they were one of the Jan6th protesters I would be okay.

If it's a matrix attack, i'll support her. For example I got serious complaint letters from the school to my parents after I retaliated from being bullied. This was in Germany.

If she committed despicable acts, i'm leaving.

Arrested for what? There are a lot of illegal arrest for "interference" or "impeding an investigation" that are really just officers not understanding that people have 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights.

What for? There was that girl recently that had the feds show up to her home because she was whistleblowing on the hospital for fraudulent billing practices. I'd stand by her.

It would depend on why they were arrested, what the charges were, and what the outcome was. Many people are falsely arrested.

Many men are wrongly arrested because of false accusations by women. Some even go to prison because of this.

For what? If she got a DUI or something like that, no, unless it was the result of an underlying problem. If she murdered her former family or something, that would be it for us.
