Been dating my boyfriend (32) for 4 months and we are already having arguments. Are we doomed?

I (f34) have a lot of insecurities that come from past trauma to do with my childhood and past relationships. My parents did not look after my needs as a child as they were emotiobally unstable and enmeshed in their own relationship, and my ex boyfriends have often been selfish therefore I find it difficult to trust people.

My current boyfriend and I had our first argument within the first 2 weeks as I shouted at him for not texting back quickly enough and we have had a number of others because of my insecurities. I recently used verbal abuse and threatened to punch him in a recent exchange. I know this was wrong but I become so angry when i feel my needs are not being met. I have started to engage with some therapy type resources online and have thought about giving therapy a shot. My boyfriend is a really great guy but I can't help but blame everything on him eventhough I know my issues were caused by people in my past. He has tried to be understanding but I think its emotionally exhausting him.
