I was always under the impression that a relationship was a madder of equality of treatment. Why would anyone want to dominate others?
If I check the definition for the word "domination", I get following definition:
"Domination: The act to impose the will on somebody else"
People than need to impose power over others in an attempt to rule over them or entire nations. Examples in the past/present civilizations: Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, the USA.
Why would anyone let themselves be dominated and be in a condition similar to slavery or why would anyone want to to be submissive to a person. There is not much more toxicity or a red flag than that in a relationship.
I've run into the situation where women want the man do make all the decisions, etc. I've also seen the opposite situation. I agree that an equal relationship is better.

I want him to fulfil both roles. To be just one would get very dull, very quickly.
I prefer an equal relationship
