Even though we've been together for slightly under a year, I just recently found out my boyfriend lied about a couple things I consider important.

The issue is he lied just to keep me longer. He knew we would've never even dated if he was honest from the start. This makes me lose respect for him even more. At least I would've kept him as a friend and accept we aren't compatible. Now after I break up, I don't even want him as a friend. That was done deliberately.

Cruel? Maybe. I would say selfish. He knew that was important to you thats why he lied. Otherwise he would not feel need to lie. You can't build relationships on lies. At somepoint this cardhouse is gonna collapse.
