So, there is a woman who I want to marry but I am just concerned if she can have children. She is eager to have children and so am I and I want to be sure if she will be alright 🙂.

A ton of the "risks" associated with men and women having children late is really about the fact that the people who have children late tend to be of lower quality genes, and will have higher disease/obesity rates. I'm sure there's extra risk involved because of age, but it's def exaggerated by the misleading data. A pregnancy after 35 is considered a geriatric pregnancy (this is the medical term), and both the quantity and quality of eggs is way down by this age on average, with many women being unable to conceive at all, and some women being able to conceive just fine, and some only with help.

There have always been outliers - women who have gotten pregnant in later ages - but most of them had already had several children, and a few just have very fortunate genes. But you shouldn't be thinking about the exceptions, you should be thinking about the RULE - about what's LIKELY.

At 37, it's LIKELY that she's going to have SOME trouble conceiving. We can't know if she's above or below the "average" line on the graph, but the average 37-year-old who has never given birth is either going to struggle or is going to need IVF or some other (expensive) assistance.

Potentially, but the odds are against it; geriatric pregnancy starts at age 35. She'd also find raising a baby MUCH more difficult than she would've twenty years earlier; energy falls off quicker than you think, especially when you don't get a good night's sleep- which a baby is naturally going to interfere with.

My mom was almost 45 when I, her only child, was born. My one major abnormality is CBAVD. I have no vas deferens, thus cannot father children, at least not without medical intervention. I also have hypermetabolism (but none of the bad underlying issues save weight loss if I do not eat a lot of calories), but I cannot say for certain that either is related to her age when I was born.
