Made a mistake in a game now boyfriend is mad at me?

So we've been playing this game over the past week or so that requires you to keep people alive based off choices that you make. We had been doing great, i had watched this game before but its been so long and i dont remember every detail. We even looked up guides and stuff, I wrote down some useful hints we'd need along the way. We get to the very last chapter today and the guide i was using didn't mention a vital step we needed in this chapter. Because of that we ended up missing it and got some of the characters killed.

Here comes the problem... My boyfriend is pissed at me. He deleted the game all together. I tried to tell him i was sorry i didn't know about that step and the guide we were using didn't mention it. He freaked out because i was the one who 'had seen this game before' i tried to tell him i couldnt remember everything and he knew that, its why we were using the guides. But... it didn't matter he's not ticked off and won't even talk to me. Did i really do something that terrible? He won't let me do anything to make up for it and didn't accept my apology. Im not sure how to fix this, any advice?

Either tell him to get over it or you'll never play another game with him again or your other option is to just let it play out and have to deal with it in other things he doesn't get his way in.
